Most of the time when a cargo train derails somewhere in the middle is the cause a broken axle or a loose wheel rim.
Broken axles occur when a ball-bearing breaks.
The very hard metals work like a saw and cuts the end of the axle off then

A loose wheel rim is caused by a brake pad that doesn't come loose of it and overheats the rim.

I heard my thoughts were right.
Seamed to be a broken axle.
After that, the chassis of the wagon destroyed the junction, causing the derailment of the other wagons.
They were loaded with chalk for the steel mill at IJmuiden.
The wagons lost their load and large mechanized vacuum-cleaners were used to clean the trackbed

I drove over the track today just along the track where the accident occurred.
I could see that the large steel H shaped bearers of the bridge were heavily damaged.
Also the track including sleepers was removed over some 800 meters i think.

We now drive there with a temporally speed of 40km/h in stead of 60.
There are still 5 of the 6 tracks in service, so there weren't much delays today.

short english version: a Mat'46 (museumtrain) has got an accident with the so call "museumpendel" (Sprinter) between Utrecht Central station and Utrech Maliebaan (the museum).

He is apparently damaged badly.

This is the guy:

Update; It seems that it isnt too bad after all; the "stootbuffer"(What was the english name again?) has bown around one part of the train. The coupling of the SGMm had plowed into the nose of the otherside with around 15 to 30 CM. No pictures found yet :(.

I actually like them quite a bit, the old ones too, they don't look like all the other metro's everywhere.

I like the double-decker coach, it's like a cross between the old ones and the newer ones (sorry, I don't know any numbers or series..)

I hope the new mDDM has enough power, with 2 extra coaches.
It's now already very difficult to get them on service speed with this slippery weather.
(Falling leaves)

I will miss the side windows, the view on the platforms in summer is always interesting 8)

You all say the 'Fyra' V250 is ugly. Indeed, it's ugly, but not that ugly.
