Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
Neat! I just came back from a little boozing with some pals to celebrate our finishing of this semester's paper.
Here it goes! It shouldn't be too difficult. This is one of the coolest stations I've visited in Japan.

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
Let's say four different companies stop at this station on the same tracks.

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
Oh, come on! I'm going to give some tips here:
- Tôkyô Metropolitan Area;
- 4 different private companies pass this station;
- Has a medium-sized yard at the other end of the station.

keisei-takasuna (京成高砂)
I'm not really sure what makes this station so cool though.

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
The Kanji are correct, however it's written as: Keisei-Takasago.
I think this station is cool as it offers a lot of variety of trains to spot. (Keisei, Toei Asakusa-Subway, Keikyû, Hokusô and Narita Kûkô Kaisôku) All these companies halt at this station (except for the Keisei-Skyliner) on a total of only four tracks and a very tight schedule. The Keisei-Kanamachi-line also terminates at this station, so Keisei-Takasago is a semi-through-terminal-station with only 4 tracks.
Also, the crossing at the other side of the station is almost all of the time closed.
Your turn!

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
I have been putting pretty easy ones on so far.
Here is one that would be a bit more difficult.

(伊賀上野駅) Igatetsu Ueno-station. On the Iga-line from the Iga-RR, a former 1067mm Kintetsu railway line.
The train is a Class 860.

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
Well done. I though putting a train that was not in service any more would make it more difficult.Toni Babelony wrote:(伊賀上野駅) Igatetsu Ueno-station. On the Iga-line from the Iga-RR, a former 1067mm Kintetsu railway line.

Over to you.

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
Well, it wasn't that hard. A 1,067mm line and a train in Kintetsu-colours (and specific Kintetsu type as well)... Kintetsu mostly has her 1,067mm lines operated by 2nd sector companies, so...
Anyways, here's my station! It shouldn't be that difficult. In fact, it's rather easy.

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
I have been trying to find a train that matches the style of the one parked on the 5th platform (right side) but had no luck really...

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
Yup. A station where two gauges of JR meet: the 1,435mm Yamagata Shinkansen and the 1,067mm local lines. It's a very boring city on the other hand. I've been there and the transfer times for another train are terrible...

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
I've never been there, but it didn't look spectacular on the map.
I've been giving easy ones to try and make them a bit more fun.
Time for a more difficult one. Where was I when I took this photo?

Oh damn... That's a hard one.
A JR West Class KIHA 47 in Hiroshima colours and a small station with a footbridge (O_o)

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
I only knew it was a 40-something. 40-48 all seem to look the same to me. (which means I can't promise its a 47)
You are on the right track, there are some geography clues as well.
At least I gave you the train!! Unlike that Noboribetsu shot.

Re: Game : Guess that Japanese Station
HINT : It is a the starting point for a signficiant number of local trains that run along the line (of which there are over 30 a day).
That should narrow it down significantly.
