Realistic dreamcar?

Post by ThorRune »

What is your realistic dreamcar? As in, one you could actually afford in the forseeable future.

Mine would probably be
Image
The Peugeot 406 2.0 Diesel. I've driven a bit in the car on the picture, and it feels great to drive. Safety ratings sais that it's the safest of all full-size cars in its year-range (96). It's galvanised and thus won't rust. The powerful big diesel engine is calm and nice for the most part, but if i need it to kick it it'll do so aswell - unlike gasoline engines that really wants to be aggressive, and you have to hold it back. Still, while being strong, it runs on a splendid 5 liters pr metric mile.

Either the new (mkV) VW Golf or a Ford Focus, don't care which model. Both are lovely cars to drive and are good for passengers too.

This is a hot looking car:

Mazda 3 saloon. I'd want it in electric blue though.

Nah, Ford Mondeo. Top gear car of the year :P

And speaking of good cars, I went out with my step-dad n one of our points of things to do list was go to supermarket. So we parked the car went in and got a few bits n bob. Then when we went out, a really nice ford mustang covertable sat right behind our car. Wow, she was a beauty. Bright blue with cream interior. It was a shame that we had to get in an astra right in front of it. Would love a mustang.

But realistically, ford mondeo for me, or a VW Golf, or a Honda Civic. If I have those three then i'll be happy, until a mustang parks behind me :?

Why is that? I don't like the Corsa, or other superminis, generally. Just so inpractical! I'd want a car that i could carry people and stuff in. Actually preferably a Estate car.

Current Type of Car:

'05 Reg Corsa.

Car i'd realistically have would be something nice to drive, say like an Audi possibly.

I too would love a Mustang, apparently you can get one imported for as little as £5k

When I have the cash to do my drivers licence I also want to buy a car. My first car should be cheap and convenient, but also with a 4wd/awd/rwd layout and fast :)

This would probably be an Audi 90 Quattro (not the 80 since that one has only 4 cylinders),
Image

a Subaru Legacy,

or something else cheap with a 4wd/awd or a rwd layout or it has to be a Honda. Preferably not a BMW or Mercedes.

Interesting choices, although that 90 in the picture is fugly, whereas there are some very nice looking 80's still about, look good with some tasteful alloy wheels, especially in red.

See? :P

The looks really don't matter for me. Performance and engine sound does for me. Although I do like sedans/limousines a lot.

BTW, I don't want an 80, since that one has only 4 cylinders and hasn't got a typical 'good' sound like the 5-cylinder 90 or the Legacy's boxer sound...

Nah man, the 3-series convertible is way better, and not a huge amount more cash! The M3 is even better, of course :P

Also a great option and I totally agree with the butchered New Mini. However it has excellent steering and such, but will never get near the epic Morris!

This is a Mustang:

Image
A Ford Mustang GT-390 Fastback to be exact. Well known from the film Bullit with Steve McQueen. Awesome film, I'd say.

Also, if it has to be a fast car and I have the money (which will never happen):

Image
Sound? Check!
Power? Check!
Looks? Check!
Colour? should be white or red...
AWD? Nah, convert that beast to RWD and raise hell!

@MrMann, good luck finding one in good condition...

yah, that's why I think I'll settle for an Audi 90 Quattro with a bolt on Turbo and convert it to RWD  Also, I don't think that a Mustang is exactly a realistic affordable dream car in Europe as well...
