Mine [32bpp]
These are my first TT graphics EVER, so don't be too hard on me. Bear in mind that this is a work in progress, so some dimensions, the shadows and colours will be changed to fit better with the standards. My intention was to make a gold mine, but I guess it could be any type of mine.

Re: Mine [32bpp]
Personally I think that's great. It looks about how I might imagine a gold mine.
Though, I've never seen one before, so Im not sure how realistic it is.

Re: Mine [32bpp]
I like it very much. Can't wait to see it in-game.
Re: Mine [32bpp]
You're absolutely right, but I thought it would look good with the old steam engines. Maybe I'll do a modern version of it as well.Slye_Fox wrote:Looks good, but isn't the design abit too....... 1700's?
Thanks everyone for the comments. I'll finish it next week and add the official camera/lightning setup.
Re: Mine [32bpp]
It looks pretty realistic to what coal mines look like here in Eastern Kentucky. Really not far off at all.
Re: Mine [32bpp]
Wouldn't it be possible to make a set with multiple graphics for one industry that changes over time?
I mean, TTRS does that with houses... and with the bank actually. So it should be possible for other industries aswell, shouldn't it?

Re: Mine [32bpp]
I believe George's ECS implementation already employs that functionality.

I've thought of that as well. Personally, I thought it would be really cool if you could begin in the early 1800's and build railroads between gold mines and small town banks.

Re: Mine [32bpp]
I'm using 3ds Max. I've downloaded and tried the official lightning and camera setup, but then what? Do I have to apply the materials after exporting it to Blender, or can I use the official materials in 3ds Max? And what software should I use to convert the max-files?

I believe Ben did a 3d Max template too.. Might be wrong though...You better contact him (Ben_Robbins_)Bad_Brett wrote:I'm using 3ds Max. I am using 3ds max too. And I make there everything!!! Only what you must set in materials - you must go to DIFFUSE COLOUR -> OUTPUT -> RGB OUTPUT = 0.3Bad_Brett wrote:I'm using 3ds Max. If you have any other question, ask me or Ben.

Re: Mine [32bpp]
Thank you! What a relief. Now I can concentrate on the design instead of learning Blender.Wacki wrote: I am using 3ds max too. And I make there everything!!! Only what you must set in materials - you must go to DIFFUSE COLOUR -> OUTPUT -> RGB OUTPUT = 0.3

I'll PM Ben Robbins and ask for the materials, because I didn't find them.
By the way, I sat here last night and browsed through your work and it looks truly awesome. Are there any sprites and materials for the trees you are using?
