Post a picture of a bus you like!
And, if you don't like any buses, post your school bus. This ISN'T my school bus. I would like it for openttd (and NFS5)
. It is a Leyland Atlantean, produced from 1958-1986.
Hmm, what should I put here...
Re: Post a picture of a bus you like!

Bristol VR and a Bristol Lodekka, the best buses ever to have existed outside of London and its Routemaster.

While not Ikaruses in their purest form, NABI buses, like what Pace North uses here, are basically built in the old Ikarus factory, and assembled in Alabama, USA.
And Pace has a few pure Ikaruses festering in the South Holland scrapyard I believe. They and Milwaukee at least I know, used Ikarus 415s.

Ok, time to break up the English dominance on this topic:
This bus is running in my hometown Schaffhausen. As you can see, it is a trolley bus. Unfortunately, the government is debating about replacing the trolleys with diesel buses, so the days might be counted. But at the moment, they are still running:

I don't know a huge amount about buses, but I like them.
Here is the scene at Streatham bus depot on 9th December 2005, just after the Routemasters in the picture have finished their last runs in normal service.

B. N. SmatZ!: I didn't know Ikarus had 3 parts articulated bus. Why didn't George include it in LVs4?

The thing is... RMs are still out on the route 9 even now. Albeit it not that much but you can still ride one. It's more as a tourist attraction though.Kevo00 wrote:I don't know a huge amount about buses, but I like them.

Re: Post a picture of a bus you like!
Yep, those are heritage routes past the sights in Central London only and do not run the whole length of the route. The 9 heritage route does Aldwych - Royal Albert Hall via Trafalgar Square and Pic Circus in the west, the 15 heritage route does Trafalgar Square - Tower of London via St. Pauls. I could take the 15 quite often but tend to avoid it as it is snail slow due to the traffic in the City and I can walk faster. Ironically it does mean that RMs are going through areas now that they weren't before Dec 2005 - the picture is of the last day of RMs on a 'proper' route, the 159.Ameecher wrote:The thing is... Re: Post a picture of a bus you like!
Hmmm, Veolia buses. Veolia is the company that hauls away the garbage here. They run a lot of the trash trucks in this area. I guess they're like a lot of the companies- they have partners/holdings/whatever overseas (Like CoachUSA being owned by Stagecoach of Britain. And First Student school bus being British owned as far as I know.)

Re: Post a picture of a bus you like!
Veolia does every thing; garbage, energy, water, cargo, public transport. But most of all, having delays.

Re: Post a picture of a bus you like!
Indeed, First is British, from Aberdeen. They are trying to persuade UK local government to bring in US style school buses over here too. Can't think why?Railwaymodeler wrote:Hmmm, Veolia buses.
