what junction is this?
I made a junction today, and I wonder if this type of junction have a name? Im also curious if there are other junctions that could be made to make this 4-way track more effective.. I am using trains with 26 wagons in this junction..

Re: what junction is this?
I dunno, but the sharp short turns are going to cause problems with high traffic.
Re: what junction is this?
what sharp turns? i dont have any 90 degree turns in this junction..
Re: what junction is this?
ah.. now i understand. I am not using realistic train acceleration, so thats why i didnt see the problem..
Re: what junction is this?
Oh right, i cant bear having it off, with all the slowing down on slopes. Urgh!

Re: what junction is this?
Ive edited my junction a little now.. reduction of 45 degrees turns in the entrances.. only two of the tracks slow down dramaticly now (maglevs slow down to 220km/h on the two bridges with most 45 degree turns). AND, ive turned on the realistic train acceleration now, hehe..

Re: what junction is this?
Still the turns underneath the bridges are sharp turns. Although I must say they make the junction nice and compact.
Re: what junction is this?
I don't know if there is a name, that's the first time I see it here.
I must say that I like this junction.

Re: what junction is this?
Since you're splitting so far away from the center, why not just lay right-bound tracks as horizontal and vertical lines? (attachment)
It will make the junction look bigger than now but in fact, these lines will be so far away form the central part, that one can hardly count them into junction itself
Edit... I seem to have mixed the directions on the picture... These are left-bound lines in your case
