Trams in OpenTTD
Hi, I'd like to ask - how can I install tram tracks into OpenTTD (v. 0.5.3)? I have added required graphics, but I can only buy trams, not build tracks.
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
Are you using a nightly? You need to be, in order to build tram tracks. (I think)
you can get the latest nightly from here: http://www.openttd.org/nightly.php

Re: Trams in OpenTTD
Yeah, there's a menu for building tram tracks in the nightlybuild. But it's disabled.

Re: Trams in OpenTTD
Then:
a) you do not have loaded a NewGRF with trams
or
b) there is no tram available in the year you are playing.

Also see this link for a very recent discussion about all of this. The search function on these forums is not perfect but it is still your friend.

Re: Trams in OpenTTD
Also 0.6.0 supports trams, but it's a beta right now so expect bugs.
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
I wish the trams were more like the ones in simutarns (there's are like trains)....
Re: Trams in OpenTTD

Re: Trams in OpenTTD
Yes it is in trunk. And i haven't had any problems with it. But i havent tested it really thoroughly though.
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
Hmm might be a bug, I can build trams and depots and road stops, but not tram stations (neither passengers or cargo).Desolator wrote:Also 0.6.0 supports trams, but it's a beta right now so expect bugs.
Or is it me missing something?
Using compiled trunk + generic tramset v0.32
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
What exactly is the problem? A screenshot could be helpful.
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
The issue is I can build roadstops but not stations. See screenshot, stations are grayed out/disabled:T-Unit wrote:What exactly is the problem? A screenshot could be helpful.
Same for stations for cargo
Thanks!
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
Hi
The reason is because they dont have terminus stations for trams, they always have to go through the stops. You will have to just put a loop after the stop.

Okey, that's just normal then.T-Unit wrote:Hi

Thinking about it, why then show a station image in the build menu?
ANyway, I can have fun with my trams now!
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
They haven't changed the GUI?
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
see screenshot, same gui as for buses/trucks.T-Unit wrote:They haven't changed the GUI?
Re: Trams in OpenTTD
I think it is easier to disable buttons than remove them and redesign a menu. Another reason is that it could be implemented at some point and they could just be reenabled.

Well, they are greyed out, but It'd make sense to see them removed.Valentijn wrote:Thinking about it, why then show a station image in the build menu?
