Oh yes, just like in Southern America.

There are "Large" scenarios, like the one at http://wiki.openttd.org/images/9/92/Car ... rioBig.png representing whole europe. In it, it may make sense mixing various european railsets if you desire for it ... (using german trains on german territory, czech trains on czech territory, etc ... :)

IMO, that´s not a good idea and only makes sense for a couple of combinations. E.g., mixing US and canadian stock seems to make sense from a realistic POV, OTOH, they´re using almost the same (diesel) engines, so, again, what´s the point?
If you need something, do it yourself or it will be never done.

My patches: Extra large maps (1048576 high, 1048576 wide) (FS#1059), Vehicle + Town + Industry console commands (FS#1060), few minor patches (FS#2820, FS#1521, FS#2837, FS#2843), AI debugging facility

Other: Very large ships NewGRF, Bilbo's multiplayer patch pack v5 (for OpenTTD 0.7.3)

I was once reported a "bug in the DB Set" which turned out to be not a bug in the DB set itself but due to the introduction of a "foreign" BR101 from a different .grf which somebody used together with the DB Set. The whole bug hunt lasted more than two weeks (on the german tt-forums) and used up a considerable amount of time on my side.

Well, since then Patch developers introduced that nice feature of GRM, which would handle those "inter-compatibility problems". 8)
Yes ... bug reporting would be the killer. There would in all probability be bugs and of course with equipment proven to be bug free in its original presentation, the author could not, should not and would not be responsible but some poor soul would not understand this. Unless a coder would be willing to take responsibility for maintaining a "general" set, including handling all bug reports, my suggestion must die.

I'd be willing to bet that phpBB 3 will do that. And it'll be here eventually. Maybe even this decade. :p
Always the optimist, aren't we?
the trainz classics forum does that, but II'm not sure if its taking the phpbb3 pills yet.

wallyweb wrote:Point taken. Actually this could explain why there are many posts in wrong sections. Perhaps the administrator named SROTU (orudge) could find a way to add the section to the tree displayed at the top of the thread, as in:
Transport Tycoon Forums Forum Index -> TTDPatch -> Graphics
phpBB3 does exactly that - "Board index ‹ TTDPatch ‹ Graphics".

a simple way to help might be that the colour band (currently saying 'Post a Reply') is a different TTD company colour for each section, so after a while, when people get used to it, they can use it as a quick refernce as to which section they are posting/browsing
