TCs photos...

Post by tubechallenger »

Hello all.

Been out on a jolly to Southampton to photograph some freight trains over the past 2 days.

Friday - http://railuk.org/tcfoto/thumbnails.php?album=82
A (reasonably) early start to get the first of the morning trains running through the Southampton area.

Saturday - http://railuk.org/tcfoto/thumbnails.php?album=82
Due to Basingstoke being shut for p-way work, the yingers were diverted via the Test Valley route - 3 of which pictured here at Redbridge from today. Left early due to chavs throwing eggs at myself and my friend...

Nice stuff, not really an area I've been to that much though.

Very clear shots and some lovely weather (shame that trains in the South aren't very varied now they are all basically the same. :(

Dave and I were discussing this but do you use a telelens, we've come to the conclusion that you do but well, just thought I'd ask ;)

Most of the photos on Friday were taken with a telephoto, yes. :)

Yes, those photos are fantastic

Wouldn't mind getting a really flash camera with telephoto lens myself... Gotta save me pennies though :)).

Fantastic!

Apologies for the double post, but I ventured out yesterday to see the first running in about 8 years of London Transport Metropolitan Line locomotive No.12 "Sarah Siddons".

She ran a railtour for London Underground/Metronet/Tube Lines staff between Harrow-on-the-Hill, Amersham and Watford involving some rare curves at the north end of the line, specifically Watford West curve. :)

My photos from the day are at http://railuk.org/tcfoto/thumbnails.php?album=85 - go to page 2 for the photos of Sarah. :)

Very nice photos of Sarah. I may not know too much about the subject matter, but even I can see those are nice photos to have in a collection :)).

Yep - Sarah Siddons was overhauled and put out on a staff special. Will probably be operating the Chesham branch over the summer. :)

Hell yeah!

It even has some interesting visits... I seem to remember a couple of 66s ventured down the tunnels at one point?
