All the settings in the 'F10' shortcut key will affect the whole rendering result. For your information, you should render a few passes, such as ambient occusion to make it looks better. And I advise you to turn on GI (Global Illumination) and HDRi (especially if the scene have highly reflective material). If your scene have glass, water, or something that is 'transparent and reflective', turn on Caustics. Otherwise, you no need to turn on something that is not needed, it just makes the rendering time longer
Thanks

Thanks

i prefer to bake the AO-map. makes rendering faster (i.e. animations) than rendering every image with AO enabled. at least in C4D.
i did all models/renderings/textures myself. no conversions.

hello, i gave a try at this concorde, this is clearly not an easy airplane to model but i'm getting closer and closer from a good result. here it is:
EDIT: i forgot, i made also the engines here's a pic too.

there are things known and things unknown and in between are the doors.
Please, there are any number of different ways to make a 3d model; it's an art more than a science. By all means point him to tutorials, but don't tell him he has to do it your way. It's improving, timzap!Need_Help wrote:You should use only 1 object and apply meshsmooth. You can't make it nice if you don't do what I told you.
Here's the av8 concorde, since we're comparing models.

Not bad, but you no need to model the 'inner engine' since its just a waste of time, you are looking at the exterior of the plane, not the interior of the engine
Thanks

I am just pointing him the tutorial. In all the car tutorials, they are all the same, model with 1 object, by extruding them and finally apply meshsmooth. I wanted to know, if you don't have to follow a tutorial, why you need to read it? I am telling him to follow exactly what I told him because thats the TUTORIAL. He knows how to make it editable poly, and know how to move the polygons, so I no need to tell him about that. I just need to start from 'Extrude' to 'Meshsmooth'. For texturing, he will find the way for himself, either using UVW mapping, or anyway that he wants.PikkaBird wrote:Please, there are any number of different ways to make a 3d model; it's an art more than a science. Did you read all my posts before you reply? I've said that a few times in this topic, but I'm just teaching him to use the most simple method. Box-modelling is the most simple method, where you only need to know, how to move the polygons, how to extrude and how to meshsmooth it.PikkaBird wrote:there are any number of different ways to make a 3d model

there are a few errors on your model: the reactors (dunno how to call them in English... well the things that make the plane move lol) should be squares, not circles;PikkaBird wrote:Please, there are any number of different ways to make a 3d model; it's an art more than a science. and there should be windows on the sides (after all the problems they faced placing those windows on the plane without having it tearing it in two, it would be a shame to take them away ^^ )
