fasten up local trains' boarding time

Hey,
I use Michael Blunck's DB XL set and additionally the RE160 for local trains. Well, what I still haven't found out to change is the speed of boarding. The 125 passenger coaches take ages to unload/load. In addition with the RE160, which requires another engine at the end of the train, the profit of these trains can hardly beat the costs. Still, taking so long for boarding, using local trains doen't really make any sense.
Does anyone know how to increase the speed of boarding in local trains?

You have to drive with the "Regional Express 1" through the Ruhr Area in rush hour and then tell me again about the boardening speed of these vehicles.

You should use real local trains like "S-Bahn", which supports instant loading.

As RK already pointed out, you should use DBXL´s local coaches in this case.

The concept of coaches in DBXL is that

- long-distance coaches have a higher capacity but longer loading time,
- special long-distance coaches (like dining-cars) have an even extended loading time,
- local coaches have smaller capacities but shorter loading times,
- special local coaches (like S-Bahn) have an even reduced loading time.

The RE160 is a stand-alone graphic. I think I got it from the TTD Graphics Site. It's the frontcar for push-pull bilevel trains, has a capacity of 101 passengers and needs a "second" loco for a realistic lookng train.
What I don't understand is the comment of the boarding-speed of different car types. As I figured out, local train cars do really need more time than express cars (!), therefore I fitted onelevel local trains with express cars. Just for the view of having bilevel trains, I use local cars - with the effect of needing about twice as long for boarding than express trains. Maybe I use a wrong switch?

I just checked the loading speed. Trains board with a specific number of passengers per unit of time:
RE160 (101pass): 5
local coaches (125pass): 10
IR/IC: 16
ICE: 14

Yes, I think it´s the work of "Bernhard" but I don´t have any information about special compatibility issues (or non-issues) with the DBXL.

The general scheme is indeed as pointed out above.

Well, technically it could be that any non-DBXL vehicle screw things up ...

As for the original DBXL coaches,

- a "silverfish" (local) of 1960 loads 40 passengers with 10 passengers per "tick", i.e. it needs 4 ticks to load/unload,
- a "Rheingold" (long-distance) of 1960 loads 56 passengers w. 8 per tick, hence it´ll need 7 ticks to fully load/unload.

Check with that RE160 removed.

The new DBXL version includes bi-levels as well.

Trains board with a specific number of passengers per unit of time:

In general, local coaches have a capacity of 40 passengers and load 10 passengers per tick. This is considerably faster than for a long-distance coach.

However, loading time depends on year of construction as well: e.g. the "silverfish" local coach of 1960 loads with four ticks but the following models (mint, red) load in two ticks (20 passengers/tick).

The ICE-3 coach (long-distance) loads 28 pass/tick.

You may look up these numbers in the Donotreadme, BTW.

Returning to your original question, it seems that the RE160 uses the default tick load of 5 which is a very small number, yes.
