The Canadian Pacific Railway site has plenty of MSTS models, including the 1955 Canadian and 2816 "Empress." I suggested to Plastikman that he do these, but he decided not to.

Yeah I wish someone would make a CLRV for MSTS and a Toronto Streetcar Route. I don't know where to request that though.
Resion for the LRV's is to make a good alternative to buses. Visit Here for more info.

There used to be http://www.torontotrainz.com who offered a detailed 'Virtual Toronto' including the lakeshore line in both directions as well as streetcars to drive around. Unfortunately, a) it was for Trainz, and b) the website seems to be down right now. Oh, and c) it became payware.Breeze646 wrote: Yeah I wish someone would make a CLRV for MSTS and a Toronto Streetcar Route. I don't know where to request that though.
Given Trainz was shoddy at the best of times, I didn't ever get around to trying it... it seemed more 'inspired by' than 'an accurate recreation of' Toronto, which to a local like me would put me right off.

Was it that good? It always looked to me like... well, every Trainz route, ever (made with the same collection of generic items, with one or two custom bits). Plus, you had the thrill of sloooooooowly downloading each dependency before it would work, and once you had it all: Trainz' notoriously inefficient, buggy graphics engine.train-a-mania wrote:I remember that route. It was pretty cool (and it's free, you can get it on the DLS).
Do I sound bitter? I only bought Trainz CE and then TRS2004 and found that three years had made almost zero difference to the game itself (well, except that Trainz CE on my PII 400 32Mb GeForce2 and TRS2004 on my P4 1.7 Ghz 64Mb GeForce4 ran exactly the same - like a slideshow)

Yeah, I don't completely hate Trainz. The Razorback as it was for Trainz SP3 was fantastic, as was a Boston-based streetcar and LRT layout. I reckon, though, each of the three big sims (BVE, MSTS, Trainz) had its own forte. MSTS is great at long distance, high speed routes. BVE is ideal for underground/subway routes. Trainz is good for slow freight type routes.train-a-mania wrote:That's true. The route did take forever to load.
Don't completely stereotype Trainz, however. Some routes (such as the Clinchfield line) are really well done (and even better than some MSTS routes).
Problem with Trainz, very few routes are ever finished, and even if they are, not many scenarios are made for them. I mean, someone did the ECML all the way from London to Doncaster, but you just had to run it alone and empty as nobody made any scenarios. And the reproduction of the NEC (with no disrespect to the author, who clearly spent weeks on it) pushed the program beyond breaking point.

Just in case you want some pictures of the list from above...
VIA F40PH
VIA P42
VIA Canadian Cars
GO F59PH
Go Bi levels
VIA RDC
I cant find any VIA MK3/MK4...but I'm assuming those are the new renaissance class cars from other topics I've read.
I also cant find the GO P42 since it's fictional, but I'm guessing that's just the VIA P42 with GO colours.

Half those don't work, because the hosts don't allow remote image linking.chemical_echo wrote:Just in case you want some pictures of the list from above...
GO isn't getting P42s, they're getting MP36PH-3Ses according to Transit Toronto.I also cant find the GO P42 since it's fictional, but I'm guessing that's just the VIA P42 with GO colours.
Given the P42 is used to haul huge trains all the way across the continent, it seems a bit excessive for a commuter service.

I'm not sure why they dont work, it's not like I'm leeching or anything...oh well, I'll just upload the pics...
Also, I know GO isnt getting the P42s. Whyen I saw the word fictional, I figured they were fake.
