there already is a thread regarding diagonal bridges if you hadn't even noticed it yet :P

re bridges parallel to another route underneath it..humm...I don't know since it would then require diagonal codings to let the rail/road underneath escape away from the piers

No, it's not possible. For pathfinder reason.

No they just treat bridges as tunnels for route finding.
I maybe old but at least I'm not dead (yet).
OK! I admit it I AM dead (from the neck up)

Less sarcasm please - you know what OTTD is don't you? It's completely TTD completely rewritten in C, thus impossible for TTDP does not mean impossible for OTTD.

(Strictly speaking its not impossible, but you'd need to rewrite the pathfinder - actually Oskar is doing just this, but i think it's going to be a while before its working, and may allow some of the possibilities shown above (and a few more too))

Well... This is how it goes... post easy questions, get easy answers.

I can't answer questions about coding... but I can answer questions about most of the game's nature.

You've been here long enough, you should KNOW that it's not possible with TTDP.

Which translates to a Patch Developer replying in your suggestion topic and saying they'll do it.

I've like this idea for a while... but it's staying in the impossible list.

Isnt the impossible list a contradiction, as nothing is Impossible :P, but i understand why it would stay there, i imagine it would take A LOT of time to get right :)

Just some personal opinion...

Honestly I don't think I'll turn this on if somebody is able to code it... you know, it's the restrictions of these bridges and tunnels which create difficulties for this game. What's the fun of it if bridges can turn 90 degrees in air, signals in tunnels, diagonal tracks under bridges etc?

I would appreciate very much the effort of the patch dev if they are able to provide us with these functions, but personally I think some of the characteristics in the game should stay so that you can't just make a messy network, get a bunch of money and become the tycoon of the century.

I agree some things are just to TTD to be changed without making it another game. (However I know others disagree and thats fine by me also)
