Made by CS himself, it appears to be a series 200.
I don't think the E-3 is a proper bullet train... having driven it in Densha de Go! 2 I never really got much faster than 120kph, which is barely over motorway speed.

Mini-shinkansen
to Metalangel:
Just for your information,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akita_Shinkansen
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%96%B0% ... B%E8%BB%8A (Japanese)
E3 series is designed to operate in "mini"-shinkansen sections. When refering routes, "Shinkansen" means wholly-new built tracks (hence "new trunk line"), where "mini-shinkansen" means upgraded traditional tracks (for example, tracks upgraded from 1067mm to 1435mm). Trains operating in mini-shinkansen therefore have to adhere existing tunnel/platform clearances so it will be smaller than normal Shinkansen trains (a carriage of E3 is 20M in length and 2.95M in width, compared to 700 series' 25M and 3.4M).
Akita shinkansen, the upgraded Ouu line (Akita - Oomagari) and Tazawako line (Oomagari - Morioka), the lines we driven E3 in Densya-de-Go 2, is a "mini-shinkansen" line. Due to existence of level-crossing, E3 can only reach 130 km/h in this section for safety reasons. When operating on Tohoku Shinkansen (from Morioka station to Tokyo station), it can acheieve 275 km/h of maximum speed.
EDIT: There's a bonus section after arriving Oomagari and coupled with a 0-series or a 200-series (can't remember), where you can drive to 270 km/h. If you got Densya-de-Go 2 ver. 3000, you can check out replay files from official contest page here: http://www.unbalance.co.jp/dengo/dengo3000/index.html
