Snail, concerning the X2100 - many of the liveries you posted have "SNCF" on them. Isn't that the French railway company, not the Dutch?

The X2100 is French. There is no such thing in the Dutch rolling stock archives.

So, wouldn't it belong in the French set? Does it cross over into the Netherlands?

Yes, it is French. But I remember Purno drawing one livery for that train, and I was just wondering if he felt like doing all the remaining one, since he is very good at drawing DMUs. Those pics were meant just to help him, as the French tracking table is still down and I have no idea when we'll be able to put it up again.

Sorry for the offtopic :P

Hmm... I don't think I feel like drawing it anytime soon TBH. So if you need it, it might be faster to draw the remaining liveries yourself

We never designed it for OTTD so no wonder it doesn't work. Perhaps our first complete release will support OTTD but don't count on it.

I think it's OpenTTD's job to support us, and all other TTDpatch GRFs, at least for as long as they don't use the new 32 bit colors.

This train will be used by Connexxion for the line Ede=Wageningen - Amersfoort - Utrecht, also known as 'Chicken Line' and ' Valleilijn'

My opinion: ugly!!!

Hi guys!

This has taken some time, but eventually, here you get the 3700 and 3800. They were basically the same engine, so I did them as a joint project.
I found lots of pics of the NS 3737 historical engine, which this model is inspired to in its details. On the other hand, I only found two pictures of the 3800 (the one you posted on your site and this one) plus a small drawing, so I hope I was able to catch at least the spirit of that engine.

Here you get the sprites, the animation, and a mockup to show how they should be attached to the respective tenders. My suggestion would be to put both engines in the same ID, and make them available either as refittable options, or on a random fashion (the engines shared the same chassis and performances, so this might be a way for you to spare an ID).

I did the 3700 in a darker shade of green, as it was suggested. If you guys prefer this tone to the lighter one I used in my previous creations, I will redo the shading of my four previous models.

What do you think? Comments and critics welcome. This was yet another step in my learning process.

And now there are only three steamers left... ;)

Great work, Snail. I really prefer this shade of green for the engines :). Nice to see the animations too. Given the shortage of 3800 images I think you did an amazing job. The shape of the nose seems to be spot-on.

No, we won't have moving pantographs. They're hardly noticable due to the colour of the roof (usually grey or black with same-coloured panto's). I think we could have open doors for loading stages thoug, perhaps even with a few stages.

from what ive heard and read it should be(if i understood the nfo tutorial correctly). The reason most sets dont have it is because they dont have the sprites or people dont realise its possible.

Could someone tease us with an example please? I wouild love to see how this would look like, perhaps on the coaches as well? there are of course various ways how doors opens... to the inside, sliding to the outside sideways, like a normal door in a house would... etc...

[loading stages for coaches]

I did check this out some time ago and IMO it´s not worth the additional sprites needed.

I also checked out that pantograph feature and it isn´t worth the sprites either (however there´s a dining-car with a movable panto in the DBXL as a remnant and I bet nobody did notice it before)

regards
Michael

Yeah, I got used to be second-best with suggestions. You're always first :(. We'll get you back somehow someday (is what I tell myself time and again  ). Good news is it saves graphics.
