Lost and confused

Post by annie_1 »

Hi,
I followed instructions at this site to downlaod regedit and patch ttdlx. An error occurs in the new graphics. Everything is looking for new cargos. shen I check the file list in newgrf the file is there. Not sure what to do now.

Please help.

Not enough info for a full diagnosis, so:
[wild stab in the dark]
Try setting newcargos on in ttdpatch.cfg
[/wild stab in the dark]
If it's already on, come back with more details on exactly what the problem is.

Isn't the regedit file used to alter the core aspects of transport vehicles? If so, then a new user should not use that file. The ttdpatch should adjust the gaming files without issues - just click and go. The ttdpatch configuration file lists the patch options the user desires within the game - a majority of perks being either off or on. While there are a few programs that helps turn the patch options off and on, I manually set my own by editing the file. The newgrf file should have a listing of every gift desired within the game, listed as newgrf/(file name). Now in the game, there is a (new) window that will allow the user to turn those new graphics off and on, along with the opening screen option. Note that some graphic files are not compatible with other graphic files so experimenting or reading threads here should help there.

Hopefully this helps a bit.

Hi All

Thanks for all the prompt replies.
Just to clarify it all a little. when at the menu page I go into options and New Graphic Statis.

These are the following errors

Paper on temperate. error - needs newcargos

New cargoset v0.11 04.08.05. (newgrf/newcargow.grf) error- needs newcargos

newgrf/tempset.grf - not found

DBset - to be used with multihead 0

I don't know if this will help solve the problem.

*cough*exact*cough*error*cough*messages*cough*

Hm... Where'd I put those cough drops?

The file tempset.grf does not exist; are you sure it's not tempsetw.grf?
As for the others, the grf files want you to change your ttdpatch.cfg.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Well, does the file exist?
Is there a typo in newgrfw.cfg?

ok there are three files that have "not found" as their error message.
All three seem to be unnecessary ...tempsetw, silverlinew, basic_platformsw.

Is it possible just to delete them from the newgrfw.cfg as there are no corresponding files in the newgrf folder.

Thanks
