Here's a couple of screenshots showing OpenTTD with the U.S Set, plus some of the Temperate set. Seems to be very stable.

Yes, there's also an issue with the Temperate TGV in that it just shows standard carriage and Mail van not the built in ones. I did have the cargoset running as well but it screwed up some of the cargoes. Also the Sunset loco from the US Set doesn't work, it has STOP on top of the engines. I've been running from 1950 without a single crash, so far I have 450 or so trains plus 150 road vehicles.

Awesome. It's nice that this is my 500th post.
One question: what build are you using?

Pete, how did you get the US Set to work on Open TTD? I've been trying to get it to work for months with no luck. Could you please email me a copy of your cfg file or post exactly what you did along with the build version? Thanks in advance,

Looking yourself wouldn't be too hard either.

It would seem that the US Set I'm using is an old version, it's showing a date of 02/12/2005 but I'm pretty sure that was when I downloaded it. I'll send you the file shortly. Regarding the cfg, the only way it would work properly is to make it the first entry in the newgrf configuration. See my previous post for the version of OTTD I'm using.

Cheers,

Its not that version, I've no idea of the history of The US Set but this file is much smaller than the latest version, a mere 600kb. I don't remember where I found it but I can E-Mail it to anyone who requests it.

If you use the latest nightly, I would recommend newstations by Michael Blunck. The waypoints now work.

didn't they work since a long time ? there's a modern waypoint working too (sorry don't remember the author name, file is "modern_waypoint_183.grf"). It have a maglev style but it fit nicely with normal rails...

btw does anyone got feedback on progress on large newstation ? I don't know where to find the files on peter's new website :)

edit : my usset still doesn't work with latest snv until I uncomment a line in InitializeGRFSpecial as commented by pasky, allowing set who needs electrified railway to be loaded anyway. (I'm also able to use a japanset with this hack)

strange : since I uncommented the line allowing openttd to fake electric railways "on", it seems that I don't have anymore the probleme of "STOP on top of the engines" on dbsetXL

well... anyway... that's fine... :D
