Does OTTD take tractive effort into account, or is that only in TTDP?PikkaBird wrote:*edit: Okay, so you're using OTTD... I can see how a few of the things you've mentioned (like the running costs for the Northern being too low) might be caused by OTTD not fully supporting newgrf yet.

If at first you don't succeed, get a bigger locomotive and try again.
The effects of newgrf on gameplay are quite broad in TTDPatch, OTTD still hasn't implemented the newgrf specification completly, so a lot of things are missing on the gameplay side. Especially things like TE.

I think Hackykid did stuff on TE, it might have been committed, but no GUI entry was.Aegir wrote:The effects of newgrf on gameplay are quite broad in TTDPatch, OTTD still hasn't implemented the newgrf specification completly, so a lot of things are missing on the gameplay side. DaleStan,
a69pre1 crashes on the following action 4 from your steelmill code, can you fix this (or advise if it's a bug in the alpha)?

Code: Select all
2212 * 38 04 0A 9F 01 00 "...must be built below snow-line" 00
I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I perpetrated that atrocity; replace it with:
Code: Select all
2212 * 39 04 0A 9F 01 00 D0 "...must be built below snow-line" 00
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Okay, I've fixed that up, and added the Shay, and Dan's "full length" coaches. Observation/Rear Deck/Dome cars now only appear in trains of > 6 cars long.

I think I've found a bug in the Arctic Renewal set.
When I buy the Dm3 [Electric] engine, it only shows the first part and I've to pay for both!
When I let that train leave the depot and I want to delete the depot I get a message that there is a train in the way
Can someone fix that problem in the set.
And maybe tell me how to get rid of the depots with no train in it, all though the game thinks there is?
Thanks.

Erm, wrong set. That's Michael Bluncks Arctic Set. This is a different kettle of fish.

But try Cht: FindLostWagons. And, if you're using a69, report it in the problems forum; that's not supposed to happen any more.

Yes, it is the Arctic Renewal Set, I know that.habell wrote:Oops sorryAegir wrote:Erm, wrong set. That's Michael Bluncks Arctic Set. This is a different kettle of fish.. But it's refered as "Arctic Renewal Set" on the first post.
Arctic Renewal Set, by DanMacK != Arctic Set, by Michael Blunck.

I don't know if I've now found a bug or not.
I've noticed that when I have trains running Wheat the weight of the trains is 10 time the weight it should be.
For instance:
A Train weighs (including 4 wagons) 400 tons
the capacity of the wagons is 20 tons each.
When it's a Livestock train, the total will weigh 480 tons (400 + (4 x 20))
When it's a Wheat train, the total will weigh 1200 tons (400 + (4 x 200))
It seems that a calculation mistake is in the set, only affecting Wheat.

Do you have your freighttrains switch set to 10, perhaps? lolhabell wrote:I've noticed that when I have trains running Wheat the weight of the trains is 10 time the weight it should be.
It's not a bug, and it does affect all cargos equally (except passengers and mail) - the default weight for Livestock in TTD is only 187kg per "item", not 1t.

Freighttrains switch is off.PikkaBird wrote:It's not a bug, and it does affect all cargos equally (except passengers and mail) - the default weight for Livestock in TTD is only 187kg per "item", not 1t.
But it still does not clearify why Livestock is counted differently as Weat.
I just found out that Food is also calculated times 10.
When I turn off the "Arctic Renewal Set" the weight of the train is calculated correctly

1 item of livestock weighs 187kg. 1 ton of wheat weighs 1000kg. So a car carrying 20 items of livestock (20x187kg = 3.74t) is going to be considerably lighter than a car carrying 30t of wheat.habell wrote:But it still does not clearify why Livestock is counted differently as Weat.
Can you post screenshots of the problem and your ttdpatch.cfg please?
(edit; this seems to be a bug in ttdp. Try setting freighttrains to "1", rather than to "off", and see if that fixes the weights).
