Sure, thats why I didn't release it.
The graphical system can be fixed only after the next stable version.
(A completly new graphical subsystem has to be programmed) But I hope you like it as small chrismas present anyway
TTDPatch dev in retirement ... Search a grf, try Grf Crawler 0.9 - now with even faster details view and new features...
I have a question - is it considered a bug that new industries don't appear on the map legend? They appear on the map itself, in their assigned colors; but they aren't in the list at the bottom.

It might be. Unless you're certain that it is, please don't waste my time. If you prefer, email me the file, but I'm not going to debug problems that I can't be sure that I can reproduce them.
And it only downloads and installs DOS TTD Patches, and I have the Windows TTD. Please tell me how to get the Windows Patches, again? Or tell me how to fix TTDXC so it will stop downloading DOS patches? I don't even understand why DOS patches are still available. Granted, there are still a few of us who use some real relics, but the average user isn't going to have a computer that can run DOS, anymore, and if they do, they generally won't want to go to all the trouble of setting up and running such a program, let alone go thorugh all the trouble DOS would obviously provide trying to setup the patches and stuff. But TTDXC seems convinced I'm running TTD/DOS instead of TTD/WIN.

Hmmm. Lemme see. It had TTD Patch for Windows, and it worked. TTD Patch for DOS says TTD isn't installed, because it's TTD/WIN. TTDXC has consistently created a file NEWGRF.CFG. It took me over a year to discover that TTD wasn't loading the new GRF files because this file needed to be NEWGRF*W*.GRF. Now I got my graphics loading, but then TTDXC downloads and installs an update - and it's the DOS Patch. What the hell? It can't even tell what graphic sets are installed and which aren't! Damned fool program. How do I tell it it's TTD/WIN? Or how do I download and install the Patch manually? Gods only know, I already can handle the new GRF's better than TTDXC. I guess it's only a matter of time before I learn all the switches, too.
Well, hang on, I think you've explained your problem. It sounds like you installed TTD Patch for DOS (even though you don't actually have TTD for DOS). Of course the TTD Patch for DOS isn't going to work because you don't have the game. However, TTDXC doesn't know that - it sees that you have TTDPatch for DOS, which in fact you do, so naturally it wants to update it. If you look in the top bar of TTDXC it will tell you what version of the Patch it thinks you have, and I bet it will say it's the DOS version. I've never tried this, but from the way most everything else in the Patch world works, I bet TTDXC first looks for the DOS version, and then only if it isn't there does it look for the Windows version.
So, if you go to wherever you put the DOS version of the Patch and delete all the files associated with it, I suspect you'll get TTDXC working properly.
Concerning your problems with the GRF files, that is known to be a hairy mess. There is work currently under way for a sort of TTDPatch wizard that will work with TTDXC to make sure everything is properly and consistently installed and configured.
Not everyone likes TTDXC and if you don't, you don't have to use it. I find it hugely useful though as long as you don't poke it too hard in the wrong place.
