There are tutorials for basic coding i belive.
As far as i know, Coding is rather difficult, but can be done with practice.
I think there's different types of coding, or at least that is what i have heard.
Im not a coder myself so i wont know for sure.
Theres a few people you could ask who do coding.

If the new sprites are a direct replacement for existing TTD sprites it's fairly simple:
Use grfdiff (Included with the grfcodec package) to create a .grd file
Then use grdtogrf to make a .grf file suitable for use in TTDPatch.
If it's more advanced (changing vehicle specs etc.) you need to know NFO coding, which is very complex. If you have graphics you want coded, you can post them in the Graphics forum, but most people with the know-how to code .grfs are busy on larger sets.

The tutorial is here, but it's unfinished and not canon.
The canon reference is over here. You are not expected to understand all of it; I doubt anyone does. Ask around; there are people who are willing to help you learn.

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.
