I run N. If anyone is going to do santa fe I STRONGLY recommend getting hold of one of those GP20s by Life Like. Best purchase I've ever made, though you do have to be careful of the railings

Observer - Sounds Awesome! If I moved out, my parents would load all the crap from the garage into my room. My dad already has a study, and a TV room.

I do plan on doing a full model railway when I retire though. If I have to sit around all day, I may as well watch trains too :)).

Watching through all those catalogues makes me want to build my own track too... but since I have loads of hobbies already, I think Ill just wait and watch my dad build his, maybe someday if Im still interested I will build my own.

But one of my motto's is: if you do it, you better do it good... so I at least want a bigger house first and I will use the largest room and place as much trains in as possible... but afterall you have to start small. :p

I also thought about making a track of lego trains, since I have a huge load of lego... advantage is that I can make all my models myself, disadvantage is that its not as realistic as real model railways.... ah well, Ill see what happens in future. First Im gonna watch my dads railway, maybe help out building it from time to time if he lets me ;).

Today I went to a trainshop with my dad .. to look at some of those N models and houses and stuff... very cool things they had there.

Only a few more days before I leave here. Then it will probably be a few weeks before he actually starts building.

I cant wait.

There was a thing going on in loughbourough and I managed to pick up a HST for £40, before this my very, very, very good friend gave up modelling to me all his stuff (most of it was old hornby and lima stuff, unbuyable nowadays(go me))
It included:
Pair of lima class 55s
Old hornby blue/grey TPO (I got the trackside stuff from loughbourough)
old wagons (private owner stuff mainley)
More MK1s than you could shake a stick at.
now I really clean up the attic,

Well im going to switch from N to HO when we move to our new house in 2 months, maybe see if i could scrape together 200€ and buy a model of the Sr2 by Roco, its very rare, i don't think its manufactured anymore..

http://www.risteysasema.fi/kuvat/RO43657.JPG looks very accurate too..

not to mention the hobby scenes around here seem to be based on HO..

i've been thinking of starting model railway... but they usually cost too much and i got no space for them.... but what i would like to see is where you build your own model like with 'airfix' with the aircraft but railway because i'd do that
