PLEASE tell me that's a AI line.

Its like that cause im going to tag quite a few other lines there later, and surrounding terrain would require heavy terraforming to make a line without a huge tunnel viable.

And terraforming is a no-no, my local authority rating is to bad already around the mountains since all my services are on flat lands..

Not to mention the route wasn't designed to be economically efficient, its just there to make a town grow until i can start delivering goods to it.

Umm, jackass, how is a Doodlebug supposed to get UP that hill? Even the pacific would slow down a great deal.

Thats the whole purpose behind those loops often in games. To avoid steep inclines like that.

Ehm... why are there steep parts in the current track then?

Yea but Aegir is probably talking about the "down" part in Celerons Image.

And i forgot to mention, its like that cause of imaginary obstacles that are not possible in TTD, can't a man have a challenge how to build a route without someone coming to tell you that its totally dumb cause it isn't totally linear?

I have played TTD for so long, that im bored of just to play it to make money, i want scenery, i want challenges that can't be visualised in TTD yeat.

Also theres going to be going diesel heavy freight there later, with max of 3 units per train, they aren't going to get up the mountain without smaller inclines, and terraforming the mountain anymore would drop my rating so i couldn't estalbish new services for a long time.

now please, could we stop argumenting and get back on posting pictures? :D

Also heres a picture of the Doodlebug on top of the mountain, if that incline would been 3 square, it would have stalled at 1mp/h

And a few more pictures of my game..

continiument of comment for picture NARS3.png

train that is hauled by a Hudson.

Some pics from Jizera Mts. scenario, based on real terrain close to Czech-Polish-German borders. Late 90s.

Main station at city Liberec. Important for cargo traffic, but there is also a bus stop fot tourists and commuter lines circling around the city stop there too. It is however too far on the city's edge and thus unused by many local people.
Image

Křižany, a minor town with a mine. Some goods trains use this station too and it is a popular tourist destination because of the mountain Ještěd, which offers far views. Notice these twin tunels, they were built quite early and go under entire ridge. As a result, the station is well-settled in the ladscape. It was just necessary to build the circling track above tunnel entrances to allow too long trains, sent here from their usuall tracks for technical reasons, to turn without endangering others.
Image

Malá Skála. A former minor country station under the mountains evolved into an important network node where three express lines meet.
Image

Navarov. An unelectrified track in a mountain valley. There are some cheap passenger DMUs and one valuables train. I have tried to reconstruct a real track here without landscaping and it works, just stations need to include more tracks to allow not-so-bright TTDX train crews to navigate their trains safely.
Image

Wood, wood, wood. I am glad that I made it to construct this station early, before natural preserve was declared here. Bad luck, greens, try the next time. Notice these old locos, they are pre-war ones, but seem to perform well even in this harsh enviroments. No electronics at all is sometimes a good thing.
Image

Jindřichovice pod Smrkem. These German EMUs are probably used by Poles, we are just on borders.
Image

Proseč nad Nisou is another important cargo station, but a brand new express terminal was built here recently to connect two regions.
Image

Center of Liberec is a busy place, it was even necessary to build a bus stop parallel with main road because all the buses were an obstacle to other traffic. The airport is quite old and now used mostly for sightseeing zeppelin flights. On the right are tow modern trains with some old wagons unfitting their livery. I will have to chanage them sometimes.

Nice screenshots Prebral. :)

And even more shots from my game, company has changed A LOT in 7 years.
For example, it has changed the colour it uses in its trains, to celebrate the beginning of the new freight line that will bring wood to everywhere in the network.

This is the biggest freight station the company has, A LOT of trains come here to take oil and wood to producing industries like Factories and Oil Refiniries. Two Triple Locomotive hauled F7 trains have replaced 2 Mallets that were lost.

Here is a pic of my latest game which is using my scenario from the scenario thread although the scenario is suppossed to be a cargo challenge i decided to use passengers in the early years then build cargo lines. Also i couldnt find many passenger scenarios that dont have ristrictions and were preferably in temperate.

Akalamanaia, very nice Arctic screenshots. I suppose, you're quite right when imposing some obstacles on your own routes, besides, if you didn't want to modify landscape at all, probably this was the best way. Besides, I think your station layouts are nice too, though they don't seem to be suitable for a large number of trains. If you, again, look for scenic sights, these stations and junctions are the best, they give an impression of a railroad, not a puzzle

Prebral, a nice mixture of rolling stock. I've especially liked the one with prewar locos still capable of work without any modern technologies. You've also got nice large terminals, though I don't think people are too happy having to cross the junctions and the massive steel loading areas to reach their passenger trains.

r0b0t_b0y2003,
Good looking station, but why did you need to make that tunnel-crossing?

Well, that's reasonable. Yet I haven't seen any waypoints on your track. To my knowledge it means that trains won't take the bridge-tunnel track simply because it is simply longer.

The picture was made in a TTDPatch game in the Temperate climate. The track foundations look sub-artic because I'm using this custom GRF.
