Remember that Blender can only import the colors of a part and no skins like the car front you put there.
And watch out about the windows too becouse if they are premade with glass then only the border color will be aplied so that results in non transparent glass(Check my Tem-2 windows in that blender render)
EDIT: There is a door look trough the front window and you will see the inner part of it!
EDIT2: Finnaly i'm not the only one here making road vehicles

since by default vehicles drive on the left anyway in OTTD, its on the wrong side of the bus.

Killer you got my blender lighting setup files?
they are available to everyone, i suggest the Brickland team gets together a "materials" file for Blender materials. (like glass, different coloured bricks...)
keep up the good work, and "please' start using a wiki page (that you will need to make) to document what has been done.
this project is good, but needs some major structure.

Bleh, no wiki please, I always have a fight with them. Wouldn't an ordinary website be good enough?Alltaken wrote:keep up the good work, and "please' start using a wiki page (that you will need to make) to document what has been done.

You all misunderstood him, I think. He meant that the doors are on the right side in the rest of europe.jamesvassie wrote:Buses always have doors on the left side Death! Even private coach companies have their doors on the left side!

(all doors are on the right side of the bus, except the emergency doors which are located in the roof

If you want the doors on left side there is no problem. It was just more natural for me, but since the default side ingame is left I will fix it.
Killer 11: I knew about skins, but it looked better
. Will fix it. However I didn't know about premade glass causing problems, can that be fixed in blender somehow?
MR. x: Maybe on newer model or a doubledecker
I like the idea of a dev. page.

this is not true, this was changed by popular vote to default on right side some time ago. TTD has left default though.bobingabout wrote:since by default vehicles drive on the left anyway in OTTD, its on the wrong side of the bus.
OTTD is not a british game, so saying stuff like that is wrong.

Well i will basicly try and get all GFX with side dependant vehicles (i.e. buses, and pretty much only buses) to have both doors rendered out.
this way both people can be happy. i have already done all the intersections for roads with both sides rendered out.
there is a "mirror" option in blender, you should be able to mirror every object exactly. then render them out again.

I found out a way to get the model form MlCad (LeoCAD) to Blender with full colors, skins... I made a .txt on how to do it. I included 3 samples including one of Blue loco, found on the first page. They were all done in a few minutes. As you will see I am very bad with Blender (lighting SUX).

it shouldn't matter if you are bad at blender... All the lighting work and camera setup has been done for you already.Zviti wrote:As you will see I am very bad with Blender (lighting SUX).
simply open up the default lighting setup, then open your .obj format file, this will open it inside the lighting setup.
then resize the vehicle (if it needs resizing) and press F12, Viola it should be perfect. (even if small)
lighting setup is here.

these are the official lighting setups, please remember which ones you have assigned to vehicles, as in the future we may change the numbering, so need the information as to what setup you were using, (it alerts us to which files we may need to re-render)
