Would really help to set maglev cargo apart from conventional rail cargo..
I doubt Good maglev will look "futuristical"

but containers would need to be held inside streamlined carriages, so goods maglevs would look the same as passenger maglevs minus windows.
Well, how much more are you supposed to streamline a box?

I say they look good. :).

Simple. Put them inside something streamlined.

Actually, with a little animation the "boring" could be excited. We've seen with MB's stations how they can reflect the number of passengers waiting.
Do the same with a MagLev goods station where the containers accumulate, until picked up by a MagLev. The container style should be similar to those used with Jumbo Jets. In fact a MagLev goods terminal next to a large airport sounds realistic. As for the train itself, doesn't the ICE have animated doors on its goods wagons?

Dan, what speed and intro date do you want for the Taurus and the container wagons (given that the Gemini does 310mph in 2015)? Also, when should the goods vans be introduced?

I'm thinking the container wagons should be slower than the goods vans, but they load faster and carry more.

Edit: Hmm, I have a cunning plan. ;)

Taurus should do about 280MPH, as it is a freight engine :D

Sounds like a plan with the goods cars, I say bring them in the same time as the Gemini, but as I said, I don't want the gemini refittable to goods or food :D

Well the thing is, all the Gemini cars are locomotives. So I think a driving cab version of the goods van is a must.

However, by the time the Taurus comes along (say 2019?), the boffins have worked out a way to make "passive" maglev wagons, which don't add to the power of the train, but also cost a negligable amount to run. Thus a long Taurus train will be an awful lot cheaper to operate than a long Gemini train.

The magnetic "lift" on the passive cars is very variable, resulting in a comparitively bumpy ride. So it's not suitable for passenger use. :)

I like that plan. I'll get a goods version of the Gemini up and running soon then.

After a long break, I've drawn a couple more locos for this set. Here are 2 electrics - The first electric for the set will be the GF6C in 1984.

Also attached is a preview of the Bombardier Jet Train

I'm debating on putting the Temperate segment on the back burner for awhile whilst I work on getting caught up on other things. There are a few more locos for this set to be done, mainly the Evolution Series and a few futuristic locos.
