Uhhh..... And what use is that in TTDP? If you want to help with BlockLand. Following the palette is completly useless as it will be done in 32bpp and pov-ray rendered.

TBH, it's totally useless. Sprites in TT scale are way smaller, and in another angle. However, there's a LEGO project for OpenTTD, which uses 3D models, check out the OpenTTD graphics forum for that.

No way, Robotboy...

Here's a comparison picture between what you drew and one of TT's original bigger ships

As long as you use legocad (or whatever) it will serve nothing to TTDx. This is hand made pixel art, boy, no render/scan/paste will work here...

If you really want to create some graphics, begin looking at the original game sprites, so that you can have an idea about the proportions and perspectives.

Purno has a tutorial, but I think it's not working at the moment. You should go to it as soon as it is back online

No, my tutorials are still not working, since my scripter still didn't fix the database which got lost during the server harddisk crash... I guess I need someone else for this, because I don't think my scripter is ever gonna fix that database :x

Robot boy: the 1st rule for creating a graphic is to know exactly what are you going to draw. You can't draw "a ship", you must draw "the ship 'queen blablah' model ***" and have pictures, lots of pictures of that vehicle seen from avobe, in different perspectives, so that you have a clear reference of what are you drawing, and you can see when it's done.

Only when you are a true artist you can make a vehicle designed by yourself, without a real life picture documentation. Currently you are too far away from being able to do this.

Also, as Singaporekid wisely said: you should stick to one project, and keep putting your effort into it until you make it right. Starting new totally different projects every time, leaving the other undone when you were beginning to receive advice won't help you developing skills. First you were drawing roads, and now a lego boat...

Let's do this: Forget that ugly lego boat. Look for a real vehicle you like a lot, and let's try to draw it. Before even running the painting progrmas, go to internet and look for pictures of that vehicle. Remember that pics from avobe are better, since TTD graphics are seen from above

Let's go with it:

1> You actually must work with 2 files: the big one, where you have plenty of blank space to draw; and then, when you want to post something to show in the forums, you must copy and paste only the part you want to show. All that blank space consumes a lot of size, for the file and for the forums.

2> For buildings, the standards are 6 pixels heighth for each floor

3> The glasses in TT are not blue, but the color marked in the file below

In the attached file you have an example of how to easily make a simple building. Take a look at it

By using the transparency bar? :?
Why you asking? are you using MMFW? and if so, why do you need the Transparency?

I can only see about 3 colours in that building, and thats only the side.
Think of many different colours...
Look carfully at other work. zoom right into it, and see what there made up of.
Try other kinds of graphics on your own not related to TTD, then, when youv'e practised that, try some more ttd graphics. you may have improved by then.

Whitehand: Dont say you were a brillient artist when you first ever started  Do remember, he is trying, although not that good, he is trying, i'll give him credit for that.

Stay away from Fireworks. It is evil incarnate as far as painting programs go. Stick with MSPaint, it does everything you need.

If you need somthing more advanced, use Paintshop, Photoshop or The GIMP (Muh favorite :))
