The good news:

I'm never getting Winblowz 2000.
The bad news:

If you're upgrading to Windows "Millenium" (the follow-up to
Win 98), I read somewhere that real-mode compatibility has
been removed to make the whole thing more stable. The
article (sorry, I forgot where this article came from) also
said that real-mode was used to ensure compatibility with
older DOS programs. I don't wish to worry anyone, but this
*may* mean that TTO/TTDLX won't work at all under Windows
Millenium...

The good news:

You now have a very good reason not to donate that old 386
to a more worthy cause, but keep it exclusively for playing
Transport Tycoon! :-)

Not bad! I'll give you a B+! :-) You'd probably want to
consider using "@echo off", however, just to be really neat
and tidy. But using "copy con" to write a batch file... Wow!
I thought that particular idea went along with the dinosaurs!

Thank you.
Is there a difference between using copy con and any alternatives (please
name them)
Never heard of The Norton Commander? It has a good editor, and is a good
file-manager, but with the long filenames nowadays, you better not use it on
that. There is a DOS-editor that keeps the long names, but that is from
Microsoft, and strange enough, it already supported long names even before
1994, when they weren't even there! (I think.)

Well, whatever you prefer... The fact is, however. that
Memmaker is not exactly a thing of beauty - it's an ugly
kludge to get around the fact that DOS' memory handling is
antiquated and horrible.
I thought that was because Intel's memory handling is so damn complicated,
and also, it completely throws away 4 bits in every addition, and with a
clock speed of 66 MHz, that's more than 7 Mb per second! Or am I
overcalculating?

Is there any other way of running command line switches?
From the START menu and click RUN you can do it there.......But thats
it.
Well, you can always right-click on the relevant program in
Explorer and select "Properties". From there, click the
"Program" tab at the top and you can edit the "Cmd line" to
include whatever switches you like. Also, if you follow the
program name by a space and a question mark (" ?"), then it
will prompt you for switches each time you run the program.
Well Could you imagine lauching the program a few times a day and changing
the command line in the properties tab?....Not fun B-(

Oh...And I didn't know that I could use the Spacer command to quirey the
switches.....I'll have to remember that! Thanks!

I see nothing wrong with the euro. It would certainly make things easier.
I'm sure it won't be long before we do.
And if $1 = 1 euro, then surely that'll make the job of converting a whole

Hum, hum. What's wrong with the low euro (and consequently Francs, DM...)
value? That will make us easier to export to the over-importative country
which we call United States. Oh, yes, for you, the problem is that other
european will be discouraged to import from U.K. because your products will
be more expensive to us... and this thing wouldn't have happened if you had
joined the Euroland!
