I don't have a problem with it, as long as they are clearly labled. Otherwise we get the silly questions, "Why doesn't my TTD do that?"

I am really enjoying this map - I would have to say that this has been the best game I have had with the US Set so far. The maps I make in the scenario editior are all good and well, but there is nothing like using the US Set, in the climate and the map setting that it is designed for.

Long freight trains, not a single electric wire for miles... it's a great game. I'll post the save when I'm done with it.

For those who don't know what I am rambling about, I'm playing on Jim Powers' "Mid Central Rails" scenario.

EDIT: Please look at the pictures in the following order for them to make sense: 1,3,2. Due to the scale of the "second" picture, it got booted to the bottom of the stack. Thanks ;).

Southbend, on the Northern Line, is the busiest junction in the route. Shown here in 1963, you can see many trains on the move. Most are freght trains, but all Detroit and/or Bay City trains travel through here too.

Finally, another shot of Chicago Station. Of note is the new food loading platform to the east of the unloading station. Most of the food is taken to regional centres and distributed by truck.

During the upgrade of Southbend junction, there was a signalling fault (human error), and an E8A&B with an empty freight train slammed into the back of a stationary train. 112 people were killed in this accident. Signalling is now much safer, 4 years on.

Southbend at the present time (about a year behind where I am in the game). The only construction left to be done now is to rip up the road and build a bridge to prevent accidents.

Yeat another shot of my game of my USSet + Alpine Climate + Midland Rails.
Made my gameplay style A LOT more realistic, i.e dropped mail cars from local trains.

Picture Description:A EP-2 'Bipolar' Pulling a Local Train in to Platform 4 at Detroit.

Akalamanaia i was wondering who had me quoted in their sig and its you, brilliant,

Just a quick question about your game, do you run your train lines in big loops cos in your screenshot you only have tracks going north-west

yes all my stations are Ro-Ro, meaning the network is just one big loop with lots of branches. Though atm, the passenger network is totally restricted from the freight network expect for 2 points where tracks intersect so the passenger tracks go over the freight tracks. Later the Passenget network will have tracks leading to them from freight network to get goods in.

Yeah, I'm trying that Midwest Rails map at the moment. But I just quit the game after an hour of building, it wasn't working out :(

I do that A LOT, I can never decide on games, I always quit or never touch it again. I have probably spent the most time (since I came back) on the Centre junction map [for the contest]. I enjoy the longmaps too, I had a nice game on the temperate longmap but my sister overwrote it with her game [yes, sister]. The arctic map is cool, but too long.....

I'm a bit of a loser....

Yeat again more shots of my game of my USSet + Alpine Climate + Midland Rails.

Picture 1 Description:here you see a local train EP-2 'Bipolar' Approaching Platform 4 at Detroit, while a S2 'Northern' Express Train is loading on Platform 1, and another S2 'Northern' is just going through Platform 2 as this station is not on its schedule. The train going past Platform 2 is longer than the one on Platform 1 cause it does not stop as often. These S2 'Northern' units are first on the company(well as well were the EP-2 'Bipolar' Local Trains.
Picture 2 Description:Here we see the longer express train loading on Platform 2 at lansing, you also see that instead of 2 platforms for Local Trains, theres just 1, and 2 platforms for express trains. You also see part of the freight network.

[edit]Sorry for confusion, but when fixing pictures after some missing cropping, and removing build railroad tool menu from another, moved the attachments upside down, Picture 1 Description is for Union Pacific 6.png, and Description 2 for Union Pacfic 7.png[/edit]

Those Northerns were built powerful for long passenger trains, so it works. Normally never use trains THAT long tho' :D

Remember Southbend? Well, it now has about 60+ trains passing through it on their way around the map. No major accidents in 10 years, although we had a minor one when I was playing with the signals...

Detroit also has gotten it's own commuter network in recent years, as well as a major station overhaul. Due to its location, the station is fed by buses from around the city.

Benton Harbour was the terminus of the commuter trains from 1975 - 1978. Before then, it was a town with a single track station (abandoned), and a weekly-ferry service to Chicago. Now, it's on a mainline to Chicago. Ferry still once a week though :)
