Possibilities? Just some ideas on mods!

Post by intercity125 »

I know I go on a lot about the EMU’s I have requested here (see other topic)

But I was wondering, regarding English vehicles (and associated stuff), if anyone had plans to build any of the following for the game :-

- Said EMU’s (310, 312, 317, 321, 322)
- Class 170 ‘Turbostar’ (I cant understand why this isn’t there)
- Class 153 DMU (single car train)
- Class 91 (Electric locomotive, currently used with GNER)
- MkIV coaches (used with the above loco)
- More buses (Leyland National etc)
- Pendolino [edit by GoneWacko: It wasn't a major offence, but I removed it anyhow (besides: the joke wasn't that good..)]
- Dorito…….oops, Desiro
- Class 66 diesel freight train
- Cars to cause a little congestion in the city to add realism (taxis possibly?)
- Bus stations rather than that silly 2 bus depot we have
- More buildings to be made, everywhere ends up looking totally alike with the same houses but different colours etc
- Traffic lights
- New industries (car plants, waste disposal, holiday camps, universities/schools etc)
- Waste Disposal vehicles (see above)
- Some way of limiting certain buildings to be built in certain cities, ie grading them, and grading the cities to accept only that type of building to be built so that offices can be built here, here, and here, and this town 25 squares away is totally housing and shops
- Passengers that want to go somewhere rather than get on the first bus, train, plane, boat and head off
- Advertising campaign to attract more passengers
- The ability to set fares
- Railway lines that actually take a while to be built, ie planning permission needing to be obtained from relevant councils, then time to actually construct the lines/stations

Just a few thoughts that probably are not possible for some of them at least. I know that im stretching into the realms of fantasy, but Chris Sawyer could have done so much more with this beautiful looking game.

I'm pretty certain most of your ideas are either not possible or would ruin the gameplay a bit.

good ideas intercity125 but im sure i've seen some of these ideas already, oh well. i don't know that much about moddin' but the cars and traffic lights may be a bit impossible i dont know. the new industries is right now being working on for the NL region by scrat and the team (good luck with that guys), the EMU's and the other engines would be great, especially for me. more buses, i agree aswell.

my idea(s), signs (like on TT), more british stuff.

Thanks!

I have posted some of those ideas before yes, i dont know if anyone mentioned the idea of waste disposal here yet, but i think trash vehicles and landfill sites would be a fantastic addition to the game especially.

I know some ideas are highly unlikely bordering impossible, just think that some could have been employed from the start.

Waste disposal already exists in the roborailcars region set.
Also houses which produce waste. Look at the site of Loewe 13.
The N.L. region also comes with waste transport, plus a dozen more new industries.

intercity, I completely agree with all your ideas.

Unfortunately, we've discussed a lot of them before and most can't be done since legally we can't fiddle with the EXE.

I think you'll also have the entire forum behind you on the 'CS could have done so much with this game' topic - he should have seen it through instead of letting two RCT games distract him. What we would have been ecstatic over five years ago we are lukewarm about now.

Anyway, you might want to check out Simutrans, which is also discussed on this site. I boasts, of the things you wanted:
-AI cars driving around the cities.
-new industries, like car factories, and tourist attractions that demand passengers
-taxis (you can build them)
-passengers who want to get to a specific destination, and will find their own way through your network. What this also means is the bigger your network, the more passengers you'll get!

Check it out, it's an amazing little game. :o

My possibilities are

- Bigger maps (you have to use 10 towns, because of the large growth)
- Italian and French trains
- European trucks (articulated and road-trains too)
- Fuel and garbage transport and industries
- Others scenarios

Can't be done.
- Italian and French trains
As soon (pretty damn soon) as I have finished the MSTS 2 Locomotion plugin, you can.
- European trucks (articulated and road-trains too)
I'm not much of a trucks guy.
- Fuel and garbage transport and industries
In development.
- Others scenarios
Use the scenario editor and your creativity. ;-)
So long and thanks for all the fish.

lol, I don't think meny people are truck guy's, they dont bring in much cash compaired to a nice train network, shore they bring in $15,000+ a trip lateron, but compaired to a good electric train that brings in $2,000,000+ a trip, well thats plenty said, lol

cheers

lol... im just a happy guy, lol.
But there are some things that arnt funny, ie being a *rear end of a pig* towards different cultures and they way they speak, is not a funny matter.

However, it was funny to see the new NICKY WEBSTER on her 18th b-day, the little girl down the road that parents would hope there little girl would turn out to be like, just went out with *People annoyed at my gramma and spelling*. lol, now thats funny
