"Project Generic Stations" Thread

All other artists take note: Sanchimaru's station does NOT have large expanses of the same color. Even where you'd expect it to be more or less the same color, such as on the platform surface, it's not exactly the same color; it's a mottled grey of various specific hues, just as it is in real life. This makes the whole thing look more detailed and realistic.

Im just wondering why the Generic Stations site hasnt been updated on the downloads page
or is it that the date just isnt changed?
I'm sorry if this has been said about before, but i cant find anything on it.

Because the latest releases have been test alpha releases, not even ready to be posted as betas. Aegir asked me not to update the public site until he releases his next version, which should have almost all the bugs ironed out.Geo.c Ghost wrote:Im just wondering why the Generic Stations site hasnt been updated on the downloads page![]()

Sounds like something we should have for those warehouse sheds.

That's a change based on the amount of cargo appearing, not an animation. If the number of passengers stayed the same then there would be no change - so it's not an animation. It just looks like that because there are several stages with different numbers of people and, of course, the number of passengers goes up and down through them.

It's possible to animate trains, in fact, we've got an animated steam loco that's been ready for months; but coding it is fiendishly hard, and who knows when it will get done.

That is something I want to see happen!!!!
Would we add more sounds. Such as the running sound of a steamer??

It is possible to tinker with the sounds, but VERY difficult, VERY limited, and VERY poorly understood. It is known to be possible to replace existing sounds, but that works dicily. It ought to be possible to add new sounds, but that's never been made to work. It hasn't been important enough for significant Patch research.

Where are the sprites? It seems like a few Var. action 2s on variables 9A, 9C, and 9F should suffice.krtaylor wrote:It's possible to animate trains, in fact, we've got an animated steam loco that's been ready for months; but coding it is fiendishly hard, and who knows when it will get done.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.
