Lot of serious discussion, drawing and coding going down in the other threads.
A lot of it revolves around The TTDPatch.
The patch has made a lot of things possible and brought TTDX to exciting new levels and it continues to grow thanks to Patchman and all the others.
But some things are just impossible! Don't believe me? Ask Patchman and if its impossble, he won't answer ... and with good reason ... he's simply too busy.
This thread is for all those totally off the wall ideas that have about as much chance of making it into the patch as an ice cube has of making it across the Sahara intact.
Post here to unload your frustrations but keep it fun. The rest of us are here to have a good laugh ... and here is laugh #1 (if this thread makes it past the moderators without a lock :lol: ) :

How about ( all posts here must start with "how about" ) converting Bernhard's taxi into a police car and then using it with the banks and Zimmlock's prison? It would work in all climates except Toyland. (Now here is the impossible part) It would require a new cargo be added to the game ... crooks ... nasty evil crooks who are caught robbing the bank. The police car would transport the crook cargo from the bank to a bus station near the prison that is coded to accept crooks. It would also require a new disaster ... a jail break disaster ... a bunch of the crooks escape and return to the bank to wait for the next police car.

Sounds impossible to me.

OK ... who's next?

This should be in the General TTDPatch topic, but anyway nice idea.

A good place to put totally insane ideas, hell, a Patch dev might come through and find one thats possible :lol: .

So anyway, Ive been thinking of station construction, you could have a set station graphic, that looks just like dirt, or maybe a construction site, and then you can build peices of a station OVER it. The difficult thing would be for stations that assume that a certain sprite is next to it and such, but yeah. T'would be great for MB's station in particular.

Hmmm, Im curious about what oddball ideas other people can come up with.
Currently working under the name 'reldred' on Github, and Discord.

Yea ... I was thinking about that but then I thought the Loco fans and the OTTD folks and others might like to join in too so I figured Off Topic keeps it open to all :)

Make the vehicle window have a nice big red button that says: OVERSPEED!
Pressing it would activate a rocket engine that would propel the vehicle up to a speed of 8732 mph

Or...

Disable all climates except toyland :P

Good point Rai, good point.

So I've now been thinking of MB's alpine set, since we now have new industries support in the Patch, why not just make it for Arctic and replace the grass tiles? Then all you need is some tweaking to how random maps generate in Arctic (Namely mountains and amount of water) and tweak what industries are availible.

Hahah, I doubt MB will even see this :lol:. Ahhwell, it may give other people ideas, or somone might pass it on to him (Wink wink nudge nudge).

Then somone would have to write an artificially intelligent patch writing patch into the game. I can only imagine how hard that would be :lol: .
