How big is the DAT file? If it is more than 300K then it will crash. You need to check that the resulting colour palette of each individual PNG file is the same as the lomo.pal file - if not, you'll get a huge DAT file (I've had 12Mb!) and Locomotion crashes. This is what the Palette Express steps do - set the palette to lomo.palIllegal_Alien wrote:I know, and i select him, satart the new scenerio: No london Metro; and i am making a metro from rotterdam, im have made the sprites like you say but Loco still crashesqzdcg8 wrote:You can only use it in new games created from the new scenario you created in the scenerio editor (in the advanced option, you can check the London Underground train)Illegal_Alien wrote:I created a train from MSFT to Locomotion, putting in the sprited etc.. but i cant see him ingame (scenario editor) the Metro tube is visiblein the selection but if i am gonna start a new game he is not there :

you know later versions of paint shop pro have supported scripting, and i have set a few scripts to turn my models into lomo palettes, this way you dont have to convert to gif, then to something else with the right pal. i have a few different sets for different palettes depending on what kind of train or vehicle i want.
on a side note i think that ppl should be careful with converting other ppls models into sprites for lomo. the first time it happens without authorization, we will never hear the end of it.

I appreciated this and I'm currently gaining authorisation for the models hosted on http://www.uktrainsim.com - see http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?p=445155norfolksouthern37 wrote:you know later versions of paint shop pro have supported scripting, and i have set a few scripts to turn my models into lomo palettes, this way you dont have to convert to gif, then to something else with the right pal. i have a few different sets for different palettes depending on what kind of train or vehicle i want.

ok.......
im trying to convert an msts engine to lomo. Ive so far managed to create the 136 images and convert them to the lomo.pal using the method qzdcg8 suggested. Problem is, i cant figure out how to batch convert the bmps to png. im using paintshop 5.0 (which i guess is probably very old now). I can do each one manually, but that would take rather a while.......
can anyone help me? Sorry for being so stupid!

Re: ok.......
It should be under the file menu, there's a Batch Conversion menu option - I use PSP3 and PSP4 so PSP5 will be OK I would have thoughtHamish McTycoon wrote:im trying to convert an msts engine to lomo. I had a 900K version to - in this case all the palettes were the same but not the same as lomo.pal - you really must check them.Illegal_Alien wrote:I have done the steps but its just to big: 900kB but the NS trains ar also that big so strangeqzdcg8 wrote:How big is the DAT file? colouring
i creted the PNG images all correct in loco.pal and stuff. The problem is, the train appears to be really dark on one side and really light on the other. This is really annoying, as the graphics were not like this before i applied the loco.pal, and the train now looks silly with one really dark side and one really light side, especially as there is no strong light source in the game. Any ideas?
