Hey yah, I never thought of that. I guess if it is possible the cars could be in the game.

Hey, why can't the patch act like Simutrans, that game has aimless cars.

No, I think this one's dead, because it requires some Patching, and the Patch team is very busy.

We could use a TTDPatch feature that allows you to extend the amunt of vehicles you can own. What do you want drawn? I'll try my hand (and mouse :lol: ) at it!

I don't like the idea of this topic anyways. I mean - having cars driving around would be cool. But if you replace buses with car graphics, then you're only transporting a maximum of 2-5 people at a time. Unless decided otherwise - I don't know - I didn't read all the topic.

If you have cars that really run on roads, I warantee traffic accidents every second. cities expand using a lot of roads, and if they are plenty of cars, some will finish under a train's wheels quite often

There could be a feature that put the traffic only as a visual effect, but not physically, maybe? or make the cars affect road vehicles, but not trains... this is a matter for the patch team

Very realistic, eh?

Road-rail collisions are much less of a problem if you use the experimental feature of making the trains slow down before encountering a crossing. This gives the RVs time to get across and the gates to come down. Of course, I still avoid grade crossings on routes my RVs use.

Not me, I have yet to see a road-rail crash after the patch made the trains slow down before a crossing :)
But, I'm not so fan of RV's anyway, so there is much more trains and planes on every company I start than RV's :lol:

I don't see the sense of having company controlled cars...
Transport Tycoon is a game of huge transporting, not taxis carrying 2 people and a bag...

If you want to have random traffic, that's another thing, but having cars in your company is ridiculous: cars go where they want to; they don't need stations

You mean like SimCity? Or Industy Giant? I also think that is rediculous to have taxis, but it is, of course, possible.

Yes! exactly like that. Traffic that is there, and might affect road vehicles, but not really put in the way of level crossings. What about not having cars at all in the level crossing tile? The ammount of traffic might be affected by the cargo acceptance in that tile of road; having a range like stations do.

I would like to see some live in the cities... IMO cars should drive (optional) on every road... and it would be nice if this really would affect road vehicles... and the traffic would reduce if (for example) your transport ratings are higher :?:
