MODEL RAILWAYS

I'm happy today. I managed to get hold of an incredibly rare N-gauge Eurostar boxed set by Kato. These things are rarer than hens teeth!

Alright, i got my model railway start ordered, thanks to jpl who gave me link to a site that sells stuff in Finland.
only 58 euros for a EMD F9 In Santa Fe Livery + Same Liveried Closed Hopper To accompany it + 6 Straight Track Pieces, and 6 Curved Track Pieces. All Made by Bachmann. I still got to get the track piece where i plug the Transformer, and buy the transformer itself, and more hoppers.

My friend has an extensive model railroad, it covers a 2m*2m surface. It has about 11 switches, and two transformers. The thing about it is that it is really ugly, there is no scenery whatsoever. Its only the track and a couple Loco's (one three piece ICE train). He has one steam locomotive that is supposedly quite rare, it actually produces steam if you put this fluid into it.
Well, he doesnt really want it, but he's not allowed to sell it to me either (it's composed of birthday presents). I might "lend" (read: take-it-and-give-it-back-in-a-few-years) it off him and see if can get something a bit more detailed together, but it is so damm expensive, so I'll have to see. I hobby in digital electronics, so I could experiment with making some automated control circuits, which should be interesting. Anyone have a link to a site on model railroading?
P.S. Actually, I an leaving for some weeks tomorrow, so I want answer...

http://www.risteysasema.fi/ is where i order my stuff from, also good to know is the gauges(search Model Railway Scales in google).
http://www.australianmodelrailways.com/ might be a good place to start...

OK, so for those, who think that model railways are just fun to buy and run, here is, how we do it in Czech republic.
How to build a 434.2?

you need: a 434.2 body, a german BR56, signs, decals, and lots of modeling tools...
(simplified)
1) get a standard BR56

2) remove the body

3) make minor changes to it

4)cut the 434.2 body out , use putty if needed

5) Paint the body

so far I am here. (I'll get the paint finished in a week, but it won't be sooner then Jan 29'th before I get the sighns and decals.
I'll post some more photos, when I get there...

I only make the houses and scenery. Gives me enough work.
I made some "pictures" with my (just bought) webcam.
Did I say already my track is a mess?

Close up front station:
I guess it's about 2.5 meters by 1 meter, H0 Flesichmann.
Two main lines, which cross in the back (bridge).
Station 4 tracks, last track has 3 shunting tracks.
EDIT: LOL!
This is how it looks in loco

Certainly looks like a nice setup. Can you measure it out in ft. so as I can compare to the space I have (To see if I could do something similar if I had the time?)
