is the website as it stands now, would someone liek to tell me why it's all junk? I mean the page looks a wreck. let me guess. it's written for IE.

Nope, doesn't look any good in IE eiither. I default to firefox. Busted in Opera too.

hopefully i'm going to be told that it's supposed to look like that because someone broke it recently. :)

Incidentally, having looked in the forum this is in (ttd patch one) i don't read this often, so probably better to PM me.
I'm more a OTTD man myself. ;)
that was me who made it,

Problem is, that everything looks slugish and broke atm is for 2 reasons

I had to re-do the menu (from all images to CSS2 with only the flags as images) so that explains the *big* menu...

I also recently tried to access the FTP, but I couldend access is the damn thing told me my pass was wrong.

thirtly when I was re-doing the menu, my spare-time kinda ran out... so its left there. for like 2 months or so? in that state o.o

I wrote it as in HTML + PHP mixed together, as I didnt know how to use templates, now-a-days I do... so well. yeah. blame me :P

the scripts work, that aint the problem. its just that everything has to be sorted out a bit  lol

btw, I can give you an MSN account, that I actually dont use, I once made it for *tstin* some things.. enver used it again, lol

so you can have it, to talk to me/purno trhough MSN..

send me a PM if interested :) and send me a PM anyways:)

it's users-ftp.tt-forums.net not ftp.tt-forums.net
Hope that helps.

/me has some ideas for the website
  • Voting system - I want people to vote on graphics. To do this they get a higher rating when voting and they will be able to show a list with all unvoted graphics. With voting you can make a list of the most wanted/popular graphics
  • Activity points - Activity points are like postcount, only difference is that they indicate your activity in stead of posts (which often include spam).
I've been thinking about the following activity points ratings:

    - Request: 1 point
    - Stats: 3 points
    - Graphic: 1 point * average rating
    - Code: 1 point * average rating
    - Vote: 1 point
Any comments?

i havn't had much opportunity to do anything, as my conversations with purno seem to be cut short by his being dragged (probably kicking and screaming :) ) from his computer at all sorts of strange times. :)

So i don't actually know what needs to be done.

The problem is that I want ppl to vote. And that searching stats / requesting is not related to the average vote of the graphic. Only drawing and coding are related.

So I think we need both systems (voting/activity)

Moriarty: I hope to speak to you later today. If you've still problems with anything you could ask:

- Orudge - The host
- DaaNtje - The previous programmer
- Jumper - The one who programms now

or you can wait until I come online, but I don't know if I have any time for that this evening.

Looks pretty cool.

But, who will post the graphics? the artist or the coder?
(if theres a grf version of the graphic.)

[edit] looks alomst like you should make comments that can go under it.

Usually the graphic artist will post the graphic, the coder will post the code.

mmm... that's not a bad idea.

Yep, that's why I'm thinking about making it bold text.

[joke]Interesting, if the coder was to post the code, peolpe would have to compile the grf files themselfs.[/joke]
Well, that could get annoying but ok.

:?

Anyways, Jumper, could you post your development page address in your signature or something. The only place it is now is on page 7 of this topic, IIRC.

And how's the progress, I didn't see any progress on the development page. :(

Jumper, how's the progress?

If you don't have time for it, I can try to find someone else... maybe Moriarty...

Lately you seem to be 'busy' or 'away' a lot on MSN...
