krtaylor wrote:No, of course not. But real cities have dozens, if not hundreds, of buildings, so one single building in a different style won't change the character of the entire city. TTD only has a few building styles, so for a city to look right, you have to pick the buildings with much more care. The yellow cylinder looks Japanese. May we use it in the Japan set?
Why you so set on making big single sets? Did you not see my poll earlier than showed people prefer seperate sets?
Yes, I saw the poll. And I ignore it, because it's a self-selecting poll. Obviously, the people who would find that poll and respond to it, are the people who are most active on the forums. And active forum members are most familiar with the complexities of the Patch, and most likely to want to fiddle and diddle. The silent majority who just wants to play the game, with improvements, but without trouble, don't spend much time on the forums, wouldn't have seen the poll, didn't vote, and thus aren't represented.

To all:
When my Total Town set is ready, everybody is free to do with it what he or she likes to with it, i have created buildings from scratch, but allso copyed parts of other buildings and trucks form other sets and locations.
I build for the TTD community and don't bother copyright what so ever. If you like some buildings you can later simply extract it from the set i created. If you think my buildings are to bright/colorfull, be free to change.
When i am finish ill release one big set, and every building separate. After that i like to redo the industrys
Are you replacing the entire town? Or just the skyscrapers?
I wish people would stop complaining about the colour, it's much nicer than the dull things we've been staring at for years! Keep up the good work.
And krtaylor, you presume A LOT. I think those silent people who don't want to fiddle around, won't want to mess with parameters and such to make things work properly. You can't expect people to only want the things you make.

Preview of new building, its not finished at all, needs shading and so on but just to hear what you think of it, its the building next to the airport and double in the for ground.
On the blue buillding just to the left of the depot, with the square top. I don't like the look of it. It seems too much like a rip-off of the original building. And the roof seems to narrow at the back, which doesn't follow the other ttd buildings. It is isometric, not realistic.

Have to agree with Steve on that one.
Your newest building looks nice, misses just the shading and some detail, but you already said it wasn't finished.

ACDSee does support converting, but there is a problem with png's converted with it, the images won't show up here.
If you use ACDSee, convert it (save as) to gif, its good, although larger.

I can't see what's wrong with it ! Did you run the undo-exe, Eternal_Spike? Anyhow, this illustrates why all graphical exe's should be flushed down the drain. Using grf's is so much easier.
