Questions from a complete newb :)

Post by Zekuta »

Me and a friend just downloaded this game, i played it a long long time ago but i really cant remember much of it, now my question is : Why do i start in the year 1950 and my friend starts in 1930 .. we both have it on Easy setting, and both say "new game" with the grasslands selected.
And is there any way to start in another year than 1950 becouse that makes it a very long game :?

Could be the difference between TTDeluxe and TTOriginal, or a patch setting in ttdpatch.cfg, AFAIK.

btw nowadays games lasts forever (at least nearly), my current game plays in 2322. :D

Notepad is a text editor with comes with Windows. You could also try to use another plain-text editor. With that text editor you should open ttdpatch.cfg and search for the startyear switch.

And when starting TT, you should indeed use the "Icon with $ and a uhm .. dont know how you say it in english, something you put over a wound ".

Or, in America, a Band-Aid.

You should get the TTDX Configurator, it makes it much easier to set all the various parameters.

Doesn't, the comments in the ttdpatch.cfg file are fine.

It's a matter of personal preference, but it's an inalienable fact that newbies prefer the Configurator because it's easier to use. It gets rid of a lot of silly questions.
