A) My primary objective is to "milk" my train network, that is, make a network that brings you millions with as few vehicles as possible.

B) For my train network, I operate it unrealistically, since I'll have huge junctions. However, my station configurations are realistic.

C) I build networks, however, I might build a single line if it were to replace road vehicles, i.e. replace two bus stations in two towns which are close to one another with a short, cheap train, when there begins to be 1000 or so passengers waiting for the bus.

D) Obviosuly, my main form of trainsportation is trains, however, I sometimes will use boats, especially hovercraft. However, on maps were there are small islands, rather than large land masses, I'll use Yate Haugans or Dinger 1000's.

E) I play with TTDwin. I used to use TTDDOS, but that machine crashed. I never had TTO. When I was 11, my half brother, who was in college, gave me TTD. I left it on a shelf for three years, then for the hell of it, installed it on my old POS computer. I have been addicted since, and I am sure he was too.

F) I use OpenTTD. I used to use TTDpatch, but it doesn't at all work on my machine (I've tried everything). I use (and used to use) Michael Blunck's various graphics, except the DB set. Also installed are various files by the TTDLX configurator guy.

G) My average session is a little over an hour, but when I was younger, it used to be 3+ hours. The longest ever was about 12 hours.

H) I listen to the in-game MIDIs. My favorite song is "JAMMIT."

I) I play in a 1024*768 window.

J) For railways, I try to use the ICE3 for everything. Then I upgrade to maglev. I usually don't bother with monorail, since the ICE3 and Millenium Z1 go roughly the same speed, and the ICE has more than double the amount of horsepower (21560 vs. 10000). Oh, and of course I use Chimeras.

K) In TTDpatch, I would change the year and use the money cheat. In OpenTTD, i use Alt + 1, which is a $20,000,000 infusion. I'll do so when starting a game. Also, I set the start date to the year 2000, when the ICE3 is available.

L) I have never played two-player.

Not usually, but I'm trying to become a bit more realistic.

Trains mainly, but I use every type of transport normally.

Windows, because the DOS version doesn't work on XP. When I was using 98, I'd use the DOS version because it was smoother.

Yes.

Quite some hours, can't say exactly how much. It depends on when in the year I'm playing it as to when I play it time-wise, and also how I feel like.

I listen to the TT music, but using my MP3 DLL for TTD, with MP3 conversions of the MIDIs (although I use Rich Nagel's high quality MP3s where they exist, and Emre Lebrwhatshisname's intro MP3).

Full screen usually.

k) yes, when i find a very lucrative industry (two primary industries side by side) i use money cheat if necessary. after all it's normal that the sum of money that can be borrowed depends on the possibility of earn.
otherwise, sometimes i just use money cheat, calling it "government aid" (i play realistic). but that doesn't mean that i lazily continue services that's turned out really useless.

Let's see:

a) goal = World domination... Duh...

b) realistic? Hmmm. if you mean like those money grabbing, non-environmental RealLife companies, i suppose I play realistically. But my tracks arn't realistic.

c) networks/non-networks? = I build whatever is necessary. Usually end up with a few seperate networks, with a few individual tracks to out-of-the-way things.

d) Primary income in early game is trains. I try to use buses as a loss leader, and boats can make a little money too. Aircraft can make similar ammounts of money to trains with a little judicious planning.

e) version? All of them. First it was TTo - Dos (years), then TTD dos+win(years), then (for a few days) TTDPatch, now OpenTTD (for just a few more days).

f) Since using TTD patch, then OpenTTD i have exploited their features. But spent years with just regular tt(d/o)

g) time Per session? From seconds (bug finding on openttd) to lots and lots of hours. I don't doubt i've probably done at least one 15hr+ day on it.

h) ingame midi's.

i) fullscreen generally. but a window when needed.

j) I buy the best engine (fastest) if i can afford it. Though with realistic acceleration and stuff i have to take into account HP these days too.

k) Never cheat. Ever.

l) Played 2 player once, a long time ago. I think it was tto. was rather a slow game. I think we only got to 1950 or so (starting in 1930 as it was tto).

a. My objective is to connect all towns with something. Every person in the country should be able to meet any person somewhere else in the country with my transport network.
b. I try to operate my company realisticly, meaning no 90 degree turns etc.
c. I only build networks when they are usefull, I don't want every line in a network.
d. I mostly build trains, but I have everything.
e. I play TTDWin + Patch.
f. I use TTDPatch with DBset and some custom graphics like Rob's bank, I convert all my exe's to grf's with Oskar's tool to be able to uninstall them easily.
g. I don't know how long a game takes for me, I sometimes play late in the evening, although I don't play it at the moment.
h. I listen to my own music in Foobar2000.
i. I play in a window but stretched to fullscreen.
j. I always use the best engines, and with the DBset I follow the guidelines on what cargo type the trains use.
k. I have no reason to cheat other then try out new patch things, but never in agame I'm going to finish.
Oh yeah I forgot, I use the money cheat to bring the amount of money I have down when I have too much.

m. I would do anything to keep my copy of Ttdlx/TT but I wouldn’t... I don't have a copy of TTD. I had one of TTO but it's lost.
n. I like everything about TTD, I don't have any favourite features.

E - TTD Windows, because it's running on Windows 2000

F - Mostly DB set, but looking forward to the US set. Also canals, new ships, stations, electrics, etc. And I've replaced the rubbish original cantilever bridges with nicer ones.

> TTD Windows... mostly because I use XP as my main operating system

-> yes, some graphics by Andrex (fonts), and ofcourse the Patch, latest alpha, with mostly the DBSet XL (and cargo, catenary, etc.)

-> Usually an hour every saturday morning, and often a hour every afternoon.

-> pretty much only my MP3 collection, with no specific genre or artist.

-> No, I check reliability, power and speed

-> yes, with my dad and my sister, with TTD Dos and an IPX connection

-> well, there isn't much too hate, I can't even be bothered by the AI (rarely have it on)

-> OpenTTD might grow up like the Patch did, 3DTT looks like s***, Locomotion is going to awesome, or at least great, and Transport Giant looks great, but interface and gameplay suck, so my money is on Locomotion at the moment.

No. I build my tracks straight, even if it costs lots of money. I build simple unrealistic junctions. And I give the towns lots of money for commercial buildings. And I choose some engines randomly.

All my rail tracks are connected to each other.

I start with trains and some buses. Later in the game I buy some aircraft and boats (mainly hovercraft).

TTDPatch Win version. TTDPatch has more features than TTD/TTO. And I needed the winversion for OTTD, which still doesn't work. Besides that some people I work with (Dutch Trainset) are using the win version also, so now I use win version too, all test-grf don't have to be converted all the time.

F) Do you use extra graphics, modifications, ttdlxpatch?

I use DBSetXL until another nice set (Dutch Trainset for example) is finished. But sometimes I test graphics, like the Dutch Trainset. (And sometimes I play with those nice Dutch trains )

I sometimes play a short time. (1h max). No really, I'm not playing TTD that much. And I play mostly in the morning or afternoon.

The TT(DPatch) music irritates me. It's the first thing I turn off when playing the game (couldn't we turn it off as a standard???).
Does TTDPatch support MP3??? What artists? Well take a look at the Watcha listening @ da moment topic. (You'll probably think I've a bad taste )

I don't use steam engines because I don't like them. Mostly I use trains I like. I liked the Asiastar for example (well, actually Eurostar). That's the same for the DBSetXL. If I like a train I use it. I mainly use passenger trains. But for long distance trains I use fast trains (like the ICE).

Cht: Money and Cht: Year, I just want to see some nice trains.

Nope. Didn't work. And probably I don't like it either: I want to keep my tracks straight, not avoiding competitors tracks.
