Hotkeys 1,2,3,4 to change direction of roads and rails
In DOS version hotkeys 1,2,3,4 worked perfect to change direction, and in Windows version it doesnt work. I have Patch 2.0 rev1. How I fix it? Is it possible?

Do you know my and Josefs code for morehotkeysway_2_fun wrote:More hotkeys didn't effect the direction of rail or road, (1,2,3,4) they worked without morehotkeys. Morehotkeys gave you more options, ranging from 5 to +/=.

If you enable more hotkeys, then they are aswell handled via morehotkeys.
After each step try testing:
Is your keyboard in caps before you start TTD?
You should have a ttdpttxt.dat when you have translated your version, please make a backup and remove it ...then test again
Disable morehotkeys and look again if 1-4 work.
If you have a translated version, look what base language it was, American, English, German French?
If that all doesn't work, please try to use a fresh copy of American.exe, English, German or French and copy it to TTD with the name gamegfx.exe

Sorry, we must have a misunderstanding. What I meant (tried to) was that 1,2,3,4 worked without morehotkeys, and with morehotkeys, you got 1 to +/=, and as Shadow said, T and ~. Or am I mistaken? All of them work fine for me.eis_os wrote:Do you know my and Josefs code for morehotkeysway_2_fun wrote:More hotkeys didn't effect the direction of rail or road, (1,2,3,4) they worked without morehotkeys. What happens if you use some other app, like wordpad and enter: 1 2 3 4 ?

I guess for some reason TTD does not receive the key codes it expects because you don't have an english keyboard layout. In this case:
a) run mkpttxt once
b) open ttdpttxt.txt in Notepad, find the line "hotkeylistwin", and change the space after the first "x" into a question mark "?". Take care not to change or remove any other characters. Then save
c) run mkpttxt.exe again
d) start TTD, and press all keys from 1 to the end of the first row, as well as any keys to the left of "1". write down their "character" and "keycode"
e) enter the character in the hotkeylistwin entry, change the question mark back into a space, save, and run mkpttxt again
f) see if it works now
a) run mkpttxt once

c) run mkpttxt.exe again

f) see if it works now
OOOOOOOOpssssss
Thank you for good idea. I try only change default keyboard layuot from SK (slovak) to EN (english) and now it works perfectly. I didn't have to edit mkpttxt.exe. Problem was in default keyboard layout.
Thank you.
