And again, all those "platform sorting" problems could be easily solved by using programmable signals. Here´s a small example I published some years ago. O/c, it´d be easily possible to construct more complicated setups, controlling multiple tracks for train destinations in a similar way.

Well, just saying... But i'd believe that's a shorter way, right ?
WRT waypoints : according to michael there's this tile wasted... But i'll stick to waypoint unless the devs have something amazing done.
WRT programmable signals : yeah, it's done, but the hard thing here is that you control the order of a (group of) trains in two different places... Sounds like controlling a car with two people : one steer it, one makes it moves or stop. Doable, but hard to use.

Not necissarily. One could envisage something like "signal grouping", to control all of those "advanced signals" in a group from a central entity.

I don't thinking about the signals; just, that the notion of having to control the orders of trains directly via signals seems like a splitted thing...

Not necissarily. Implementing track allocation out of orders might be (and most probably seems to be) an advantage rather than a drawback: e.g., in case of a freight platform inside, or adjacent, to a passenger station, the logic would be in a signal on-site, rather than needing to put it into the orders of every possible train.

But, but... That'd be almost - realistic! Can't be having that, can we?
