A small correction for the Croatian/Serbian translation. Number 11 can be translated as I did but I've just figured out that this translation isn't the one you've meant Michael.

So... Ship's chandler(y) would really be "Trgovina brodskom opremom" - literally translated as a ship's supplies shop.

That word does not exist in Dutch, although it used in some churches for people that set up work for helping the 'needful' (as I found out after using google)

The first thing which comes to my mind isn't really a trans lation for Ship's chandler but a company more or less doing this.

It's called Ymuiden stores.

I think this is the correct dutch translation: Scheepsbevoorrader

Dutch wikipedia missed language links on this article, so it was hard to find, but existed already.

Try to give russian translation, hope it will be written correctly literary and by thematic meaning.

1. "Special quay tiles": специальные объекты набережной,
2. "Special quay tiles: специальные объекты набережной : билетная касса, скамейки, стоянка для яхт, дальбы,
3. "Dolphins": дальбы,
5. "Tourist steamer": прогулочный пароход,
8. "Cranes" (plural): портовые краны,
10. (harbour) "Buildings": припортовые сооружения,
11. "Ship's chandler(y)": бункеровщик / станция бункеровки судов,
12. "Quay with sheds": набережная с лодочными сараями / набережная с будками,
13. "Quay extensions": дополнительные объекты набережной,
14. "Loading Facilities": погрузочные терминалы,
15. "Single ships" (i.e. ships which may be freely placed): суда,
16. "Single shed": лодочный сарай / будка / хранилище,
17. "Mixed sheds": сараи / будки / хранилища(probably that more correctly),
18. "Double sheds": двухсекционные хранилища,
19. "Warehous(es)": склады,
20. "Fish auction hall": крытый рыбный рынок / рыбный рынок,
21. "Connects to moles, quays and quay extensions.": присоединяется к молам, набережным и дополнительным объектам набережной.
22. "Can only be placed on flat land or as an inner corner of quays.": возможно разместить только на плоской поверхности суши или в качестве береговых участков набережной.

Some corrections welcome / Исправления ошибок приветствуются :)

Hi TehGanker,

thanks for your translation. It is very much appreciated. I´ve already discussed a Russian translation with George, and from that discussion I learnt (again) that a picture is worth a thousand words. So, here it is:
MariCo terms.png
MariCo terms.png (46.07 KiB) Viewed 7698 times
- First of all, the different types of sheds should be more clearly visible,
- In MariCo, there´s a difference between moles, quays and piers, moles and piers may be built on water, but quays can only be built on coast tiles,
- quay extensions exist only for modern quays, they may be built on water to extend existing quays,
- likewise, there´s a difference between ships at moles, ships at quays, and "ships at piers",
- the single ships are ships which might be freely placed by the player, in contrast to those "ships at moles/quays/piers" which cannot be placed freely, but belong to appropriate mole quay or pier tiles,
- a warehouse in MariCo is a more lavish/costly "shed", larger and probably more modern. There´s an even more modern type in the set, the modern storage, which also comes in a couple of different layouts,
- those "auxiliary lights" may be placed somewhere on water, but when being placed beside a mole or quay, they activate a "catwalk", hence that message "Connects to moles, quays and quay extensions.",
- the "harbour lighthouses" can only be placed either on flat land or inside an inner corner of a quay. Please notice that the light house itself and the quay substructure are one and the same tile, hence that message "Can only be placed on flat land or as an inner corner of quays.",

Hope this is of some help for the translation. I´m very sorry, but my knowledge of Russian is very very scarce, so I cannot be of any more help with this.

regards
Michael

These are the Swedish translations. Some of them were rather tricky, so if someone has better suggestions, feel free to make changes.
1. "Special quay tiles": Specialrutor för kajer
2. "Special quay tiles: ticket office, benches, marina, dolphins.": Specialrutor för kajer: biljettkontor, bänkar, småbåtshamn, dykdalber.
8. "Cranes" (plural): Kranar
10. (harbour) "Buildings": Byggnader (or if you want it to be harbour buildings explicitly: Hamnbyggnader)
11. "Ship's chandler(y)": Skeppshandel
12. "Quay with sheds": Kaj med skjul
13. "Quay extensions": Kajutlöpare
14. "Loading Facilities": Lastningshjälpmedel
15. "Single ships" (i.e. ships which may be freely placed): Separata skepp
16. "Single shed": Enkelskjul
17. "Mixed sheds": Mixade skjul
18. "Double sheds": Dubbla skjul
19. "Warehous(es)": Hamnmagasin (both singular and plural)
20. "Fish auction hall": Fiskauktionshall
21. "Connects to moles, quays and quay extensions.": Ansluter till vågbrytare, kajer och kajutlöpare.
22. "Can only be placed on flat land or as an inner corner of quays.": Kan bara placeras på platt mark eller som innerhörn av kajer
Personally I'm no fan of those pinkish/orange sides (which I suppose are meant to be made of brick), neither on moles nor on train platforms (basically because I've never seen it in real life), but other than that, I think this is an awesome set! Keep up the great work! :bow:

Hi Joel A,

Thanks for your Swedish translation, it´s very much appreciated. Unfortunately, I had´t updated this thread since a couple of days, so it didn´t reflect the current status w/r to translations.

Meanwhile, Anders (->) had already sent me a Swedish translation too, and most of time it´s in agreement with yours. There are only a couple of differences which I´d like to post here, probably to get some further comments on what´s the better one of the two alternatives.
1. "Special quay tiles": Specialrutor för kajer
-> "Speciella kaj-rutor"

11. "Ship's chandler(y)": Skeppshandel
-> "Skeppsfournerare"
[the English term doesn´t mean "trading with ships" but "equipping ships, trading with ship´s equipment, etc.]

13. "Quay extensions": Kajutlöpare
-> "Kajutbyggnader"

14. "Loading Facilities": Lastningshjälpmedel
-> "Lastutrustning"

15. "Single ships" (i.e. ships which may be freely placed): Separata skepp
-> "Enstaka skepp"

16. "Single shed": Enkelskjul
-> "Enstaka skjul"

18. "Double sheds": Dubbla skjul
-> "Dubbelskjul"

19. "Warehous(es)": Hamnmagasin (both singular and plural)
-> "Lagerbyggnader"

21. "Connects to moles, quays and quay extensions.": Ansluter till vågbrytare, kajer och kajutlöpare.
-> "~ och kajutbyggnad."
Personally I'm no fan of those pinkish/orange sides (which I suppose are meant to be made of brick), neither on moles nor on train platforms (basically because I've never seen it in real life), but other than that, I think this is an awesome set! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for you interest. That "pinkish" (?) colour is indeed meant to represent "brick" (used the same in original TTD graphics). Using "brick" or "concrete" for moles has the advantage that there´s only one type of moles needed for both sides (seaside, harbour side), instead of using "embankments" with the outer side consisting of large stones.

Regarding DBSet 0.9:
Will it eventually be possible to run "proper" car trains (Autozug)? The auto rack already exists, so it would be rather easy to create a "Autozug" (combined with two or three IC coaches) if they had a option for carrying passengers. Should be rather easy to implement. :wink:

That will be possible. I´m still collecting some info about those trains during the early years (-1986).
Voyager One wrote: Can't you just make a train consist manually on your own?
That´s not always possible because most of the express locos don´t allow attachment of freight cars.

Michael, have you though of removing the time limit on MariCo objects? Currently, all get grayed out in the GUI after (IIRC) 2050.

Well, yes. Unfortunately, the release is pending due to some nasty game shortcomings and revived work on another NewStation release.

Michael, your stuff is just brilliant - I can't wait to get my hands on these updates. Not sure if I have ever mentioned that, but your GRFs have been in my standard savegame inventory since I began playing OTTD with NewGRFs.

Now, regarding DBSetXL v0.9 - are you planning any rolling stock diversification for it?

Vehicles like the...
- METROPOLITAN train
- slow Railtrabi (143) for universal service
- Regioshaker (650)
- CargoSprinter
- new class 430 S-Bahn
- V60
- Köf III
- class 152 Siemens ES64F
- TRAXXs
- class 151
- S-Bahn class 474 (third rail & overhead metro)
- Hamster (Talent 2)
- ICx (to be constructed)
- class 407 (the new ICE)
- class 428 FLIRT
- class 440 Coradia Continental (length refit for 3-5 cars)
- new class 261 (Voith Gravita 10BB with particle filter)
...would be pretty damn nice additions to the game I think.

I would also like to know if the class 101, 120 and 182 (ex-DB Cargo) will be capable of pulling freight trains - it's clearly an unusual sight right now, but will be increasingly common once the ICx hits the tracks. And what about realistic capacities? Anyway, keep up the great work! :) Your GRFs have been worth waiting for in the past and I don't think there's a reason to think different about that now.
