Multiplayer on Vista

Post by sparky2002b »

Whenever I connect/host a two player game on my Vista machine, Locomotion just freezes. Firewall's disabled. Tried it as admin, XP compatibility and admin + XP compatibility.

Suggestions?

I guess I didn't make myself clear.
I'm on Vista trying to play over LAN. As soon as I click the "host game" or "join game" button, the game freezes completely and I have to ctrl+alt+del out of it.

It's running as an administrator process and my firewall's off.

That's not really a solution.

By the way, this happens on two of my computers - one is Vista 32 and the other Vista 64 - in exactly the same way. (Different Locomotion installs from different discs.)

you did reboot after turning it off?

that's wierd. i do it all the time.. launch lomo.. select muliplayer, alt-tab to say yes to windows firewall pop-up. go back to game and play.

i have been playing multi player provo all morning. to make it even more wierd, one pc is playing it in a vista32 VMWare portable ACE on Win7 and the other pc is just vista(32).
*side note that map was not made for 2 players. what a mess we made.

What, if any, antivirus do you have? Try disabling it if you have one.
