TTDX music problems

Ok guys, first, you guys are brilliant. I stopped playing this game years ago and just found it again ! but my music will not play. I do however have sound effects.

I have done everything I am supposed to as far a s I know and all I get now is the dialogue box - dxmci, Loadmidi - set search directory failed.

For information:
I am using TTDL windoze, Win XP Proffesional on a sony vaio laptop.

My install directory is on my desktop and is called TTDX.

hehe, your *desktop* is just a directory

for me that is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Daan\Bureaublad\

for you it would be

C:\Documents and Settings\*yourlogin*\Whateverlanguage Desktop itt is \

anyway , I have the same problem, only after installing KXProject driver sfor my soundcard

do you have the Midi output open?

have you tried to play midi truogh directx help thing? (run > dxdiag)

dxdiag all checks out, no trouble playing midi files or anything else for that matter. All other games are fine, its just TTDX giving me a headache.
