Translating new station graphics

I tried using GRFTrans to translate the name in both the "official" new stations grf (containing signal boxes) and the "Industrial station alpha" set.

In the generated text files, all strings start with the characte ˜, that I left unchanged.

The problem is: the compiled ..._trans.grf file seems to be broken and TTDPatch crashes at startup while trying to load it.

How do I solve this?

Bah. How could I forget that...

I don't think this will work, honestly. I haven't thought of this, and I don't think you can translate station names at the moment. It just wouldn't work, I need to think of a way that I can support this...
