New "sell whole train" button
You all know the nice little "sell whole train" button, right under the "sell wagon" trash can in the train depot window. Currently we're using the dynamite icon for this button. I just chose this icon because no other suitable icon was available at that time, but I never thought it described very good what this button is for. Therefore I would love to see any suggestions for a new icon! Any ideas?

trash = an engine or a wagon with a red x and under the "x1"
sell whole train = an engine or a wagon with a red x and something that remember that all carriages since the waon you have selected will be sold

or a picture like this:
Sell = (picture of one wagon) x1
Sell whole train =
where
XX are the wagons
[--...--] is a red line that mean the whole train (from here [ to here ])
Sell = (picture of one wagon) x1
Sell whole train =
Code: Select all
XX-XX-XX-XX
[-----------]
XX are the wagons
[--...--] is a red line that mean the whole train (from here [ to here ])

well it may be recognizeable, but it doesn't really suit the other graphic, I think.
If we really want to have suitable graphics, wouldn't the thrashcan need to be replaced as well? Otherwise, you might just as well leave the dynamite in position. It may not be very realistic to just put explosives in an old train you currently don't need
, but it suits a thrashcan, because it is kind of "stronger", and it also isn't too realistic to put a wagon in a thrashcan.
Personally I like the idea of one wagon crossed out red for sell wagon and a few wagns crossed out red for sell whole train better.

But in this case only with a special dialog window to assure you don't sell any important (and perhaps loaded) trains accidentally.
Because it happens very easily that you click on a wrong button accidentally when you've been playing for a while, so you might confuse it with the start/stop train-flag-thing in front of every train.

I think such a dialog would be handy, but would irritate the players. Right now I can think of two ways of getting around this:worldofklaus wrote:But in this case only with a special dialog window to assure you don't sell any important (and perhaps loaded) trains accidentally.

1) Make it easily possible to disable the feature either from a menu or by holding down some key on the keyboard.
2) Make it possible to undo the selling, if less than f.ex. 15 seconds have passed.

I still like TTDPatch's (admittedly jury-rigged) method: depress CTRL to sell all including and after (but not before) the vehicle in question.
I especially like being able to drag things out of the depot window to sell them, instead of having to hit this tiny little target.

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.
