I'm having trouble dragging the locomotives to the depot! My daughter is having the same problem!

I can't tell what issue is going on based on the screenshot. What exactly do you mean by "dragging the locomotive to the depot"?

In the 2nd screenshot, you can move vehicles about within the depot where you have the mouse - within the one train, or between multiple trains - by clicking & dragging the vehicle about (optionally using the Ctrl-key to move all vehicles behind the one you've clicked on).
You can't 'click-and-drag' a train in to the depot window.
