AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
I am not a native English speaker, so please understand even if the grammar is wrong.
Advanced World Airliners Set
It was created by forking WAS under WAS GPL V3 license.
Only OpenTTD compatible
Current status:It is being developed based on WAS graphics.
Takeoff and landing actions have been removed to reduce the time required to create graphics, lower the difficulty of creating graphics, and make it easier to contribute graphics.
It is developing by adding the latest passenger planes from the 2010s and 2020s and improving graphics. Airbus's airliner is almost complete and Boeing's airliner is now being added.
It also plans to add airliners of Russia and China.
Description: From early airliners to the new A350 and 777X, it includes a variety of airliners used around the world from the 20th century to the present.
Originally, I was developing it privately for several months, but I felt that the project was vast and difficult to develop alone, so I switched GitHub repo to public in order to collaborate with developers in TTD forums.
We're aiming to officially launch Bananas in the fall of 2024, and we'd like to communicate with a variety of creators through the forum.
Credits: Code by me, graphics adapted from World Airliners Set, Korean Airliners Set

Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
Are you going to add more supersonic planes such as the Boom Overture, the Boeing 2707, or the High Speed Civil Transport?

Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
Good luck on reviving WAS! I hope you include all the latest liveries that were drawn for WAS but never included.
Also, it would be neat if the aircraft could be grouped into variants using the new variants feature

Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
How exactly will the removal of takeoff and landing actions affect the game? Won't it be that the plane flies over the airport and teleports directly onto the tarmac instead of landing? That would probably bother me. Of course I totally understand the reason, it's a lot of extra sprites - which is probably why there are so few aircraft sets.

Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
I imagine it'll behave exactly like the vanilla aircraft do... Just taking off and landing horizontally without pulling up the nose or extending flaps.Argus wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023 08:54 How exactly will the removal of takeoff and landing actions affect the game? Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
Also, with WAS, I'm not sure which version is the latest, each has different sprites, plus one plane has a white line under it in one direction -- considering the number of planes in the set, I don't know. I don't even know which one it is.Emperor Jake wrote: ↑04 Sep 2023 11:20I imagine it'll behave exactly like the vanilla aircraft do... Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
I am glad to see this development. The only missing aircraft I see are: (except B737 Classics) B737-600, B737-700 and B737-900ER.
Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
Last published version of WAS with source code is still available:

This is what I believe RvP93 copied over to GitHub. I don't know what sprites have been added to it since, a lot of them were posted on TT-Forums.

Re: AWAS - Advanced World Airliners Set
There are no plans to add Boom Overture as it does not actually exist yet, but we plan to add if it does exist in the future.RoyalExamination9410 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2023 20:57 Are you going to add more supersonic planes such as the Boom Overture, the Boeing 2707, or the High Speed Civil Transport?

Although it contains a few bugs, one of which I already mentioned here, but it works. (Also, it looks like some planes don't have liveries activated, maybe they have launch dates?)
