I can't buy a train at all

I didn't really use trains that much but I noticed something, after a bit amount of years most of the trains weren't in the New Vehicles menu and they were literally gone. I'm not sure why. There was only one diesel train left in the menu to buy but in the year 2074 it is gone too. Now I can't use trains. How can I fix this?

Steam and Diesel trains eventually become unavailable, replaced by electric trains, monorails and maglevs.

If you click AND hold on the railway construction icon, it should show other types of rail that are available.
You should then be able to build the newer rail types, as well as convert your existing networks to the new types - you can convert the rails, but the trains need to be sold and replacements bought (AND you can't use the auto-replace feature).
