Can not see nor connect to server

I've recently ran into a problem where I can not connect to any of my friends server when they start hosting. I can not see their game in the server browser list and when I grab their IP to add to server, it does not give me the option to join. I wiped all my openttd files from my computer and did a fresh install and it still doesn't work. We've been using the steam version of the game.

Go into Steam and set it to allow beta versions. Then download the new 12.0 beta-1 version. Have everybody to this update so that they're on the same version. OpenTTD just implemented a new multiplayer system that makes it easier to use.
