File not writable
Tried to install the NewGRF(s) to play with my friend but it says file not writable... help?
Re: File not writable
If you're downloading via the in-game content downloading service, the default directory is:
<path-to-your-openttd-install>/content_download/newgrfs/
Check your OS's file permissions and make sure that this directory can be written to.

Re: File not writable
that usually means that it's trying to write into a protected directory (e.g. inside "Program Files").
if you have an "openttd.cfg" file in Program Files, it will also try to store savegames and NewGRFs there, so try deleting that file, and it should instead write everything in "My Documents"
