Original Music/Midis On Open TTD Mac

Hi im on a MacBook pro and I can't for the life of me get the original midis to play on the game. I dont have the original CD rom but sourced the original midi files. I put them into the basenet folder to no avail? Any help would be appreciated its driving me nuts! Cheers Ryan

the game can only use the MIDIs from the Windows version of the original game, not from the DOS version of the game (they have some slightly obscure format that nobody ever bothered to figure out).

It could be that the copies you have are not an exact copy of the Windows .gm files, and therefore their MD5 hashes may not match that which OpenTTD is looking for. They might also not be named correctly. The file names should be gm_tt??.gm, with ?? being between 00 and 21.
